Overview of your Athens tour
Delphi is a wonderful tour in the mainland of Greece, where you'll visit both the archaelogical site with the ancient theatre, and museum. Delphi is the first touristic attraction of the antiquity, as it was busy all the year round. It was the place God Apollo had his sanctuary, that the prophesis were given to every man, every prince, general and king by Pythia the High Priestess. It was the center of the universe, according to Zeus, king of the Gods. You will visit the Oracle of Apollo, the Omfalos, the temple of Athena Pronaia, Kastaleia Spring and see some magnificent artifacts and statues, such as Eniochos the charioteer, the twin Brothers and Sphynx of Naxos.

Jim was on time, a lively conversationalist, and knowledgeable. HIs English is excellent. The only thing you otherwise need to know is that he is not a licensed Greek tour guide, which means he cannot take you inside archeologic sites. That requires a two-and-a-half year course at a state tourism school. We went to Delphi, where he dropped us off and returned in two hours. The signage is sufficient to make sense of the site.

Do not hesitate and book this trip to Delphi today. Jim was prompt to pick us up in his very clean van. We had one comfort stop for coffee and a bathroom on the way. He is an excellent and safe driver. After we were finished at Delphi we had the best lunch with a view during our whole vacation. It was our BEST day in Greece by far!! Thank you Jim!!!

Jim gave us a great tour very knowledgeable and funny. We learned a lot on the way to and from Athens and Delphi. He selected an excellent tavern for lunch and had the tour timed perfectly to avoid large crowds and waiting. Jim provided a lovely bespoke tour from the port in Piraeus to Delphi, then back to the Athens airport. He made the most of our short time and had everything planned out perfectly. Delphi was truly amazing - probably the best site we saw our entire trip. And Jim made us very comfortable in his van and made sure we had a rest stop for snacks on the way there, and detoured to a charming town for us to pick up souvlaki on the way back to the airport. Thanks Jim for a great day!
Your Athens tour itinerary
Our tour will start from your accommodation or the cruise ship port in Athens and we will drive to the various locations, passing through the scenic countryside: - Livadeia, an ancient beautiful city; - Arachova, a picturesque village; - Delphi, the most popular archaeological site in Greece after the Acropolis. We will stop to see the most important highlights such as the Oracle of Apollo, the Omphalos, the temple of Athena Pronaia and others. On lunch time, you will have the opportunity to be to taste the famous Greek cuisine. Then, we will return to Athens. Keep in mind that I am never in a hurry and always ready to change the itinerary according to your needs.
