My name is Anastasia and I am an archeologist, an art historian, and a licensed tour guide since 2014. My working languages are English, Italian, and Greek. I was born and raised in Athens where I took also my first degree in Greek Archeology and History of Art at the University of Athens. Later I moved abroad for postgraduate studies in Italian Art history In Warwick-England, Glasgow-Scotland, and Fribourg- Switzerland. Therefore I lived for a prolonged time in other European cities mostly in England, Scotland, and Italy. I've also worked in different positions in the history of Art ( various museums, art galleries, and institutions like the Fondazione Cini in Venice) as an archeologist in the American School for Classical Studies in Athens and as a lecturer in different educational institutes. I consider myself a citizen of the world and I do enjoy bringing people together and immersing them in the beauty and culture of my country. Art history is my passion and I am a keen reader and traveler. Apart from art history, I love cinema, photography, fashion, and most of all wine since I am a certified expert in wine having a set 3rd level in Wine and Spirits I do believe that the world of Wine is inspirational and fascinating. In the recent century after the excavations in the ancient site thousands of people swarm every year to rediscover the magic of this place and to try to understand the impact that this place had exerted to the whole world. I will be your guide to that , to the comprehension of how this place was so important in the ancient times and it is still a place of reference for all humanity
Your Athens tour itinerary
An Unesco protected heritage site located only two hours away from Athens. The tour of 10 hours in total , will provide you with a full experience of what was the oracle of Delphi and the oracle of Pythia. We will learn about ancient Greek myths, like Apollo’s killing of the serpent Python and his subsequent exile. And will have the chance to visit the temple of Apollo, the treasury of the Siphnians and the Athenians, the theatre and the stadium were the Pythian games were held. Subsequently we will visit the museum where we will admire some of the most remarkable artifacts that were discovered in the area like the famous Charioteer and will discuss in depth about the role of the sanctuary in the political life of the ancient Greek-polis. Finally you have the option to stay at the town of delphi and visit the beautiful village , eat in one of the taverns of the village and at the end of the day early afternoon we will head back to Athens.
