Day Trip to Ancient Corinth countryside and Eleusinian Mysteries from Athens

On this tour we will be about 80 km away from Athens, at the entrance of the Peloponnese, in an ancient city, Corinth, which was considered the richest city of ancient Greece. Many interesting things happened here during the centuries, many conquerors passed and left their marks, Knights Templar, Venetians, Romans, Ottomans, Byzantines, even Saint Paul himself passed through here to teach the Corinthians. The Eleusinian Mysteries were the greatest religious celebration of Ancient Greece, and one of the greatest mysteries of history, which still inspires those "initiated" in them. Heraion, the temple and oracle of the Goddess Hera, with a very interesting history and enchanting landscape We will visit together, all these places and make a very interesting trip back in time. Our first stop will be the Daphni Monastery, a really interesting place to visit and also an Unesco monument . Next is archaeological site of Eleusis, where you will see the place where the Great Eleusinian Mysteries took place. Here you will see all the places described in the myth of the abduction of Persephone by Hades and the unique temple of the goddess Demeter. Next: * Corinth Canal: Right there is the entrance to the Peloponnese and the view is magnificent, a miracle of mechanic at 19th century. * The castle of Acro Corinth, an impressive castle in Greece with a long history. Here acted Knights Templars, Venetians, Byzantines, ancient Greeks and mythical personalities such as Pegasus and Hercules. *The archaeological site and Museum of Ancient Corinth.
