Hello Travellers! My name is Silvia - Silviaki for my Greek friends - and I am a historian and licensed tour guide living in Athens. Both modern and ancient Greece have built on stories, and my own starts in Italy. Born and raised in a very little town near Milan, drawn by my passion for Ancient History and Archaeology, I enrolled nine years ago as a PhD student in Athens University, a choice I have never regretted. Communicating and sharing with people is something I see as fundamental to life as breathing. Tours let me combine my passions for the Ancient World and architecture with the joy of meeting, talking and laughing with people through genuine connections. In my free time, my little car and I go to explore archaeological sites, museums, Greece's incredible and varied nature, always trying to find my new favorite Greek dish! The country has so much to offer me and everyone that, no matter how much of it I see, I know that it is only the surface. My favorite tours are those based on history, archaeology and art, and I very much enjoy finding connections between the Ancient World and the modern. I try to contrast the more academic side of my tours with the fun, frivolous and unexpected. There is beauty to be discovered behind an ancient building, be it a modern artwork or an incredibly tasty baklava! The majority of my tours are Athens-based but I can help you escape from the city for one or more days, offering tours full of history, culture and nature throughout Greece based on your needs and interests. Looking forward to meeting you and introducing you to my second and now first home! Silvia B. Licensed Tour Guide (Greek Ministry of Tourism) PhD in Ancient History (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens) Master Degree in Roman History (Università di Roma Tor Vergata) Bachelor Degree in Human Science (Università degli studi di Pavia) I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Everyone knows that Sparta was Athens' worst enemy, but Corinth was for sure not an easy neighbour for Socrates' city! Indeed, it was extremely powerful, even becoming a Roman Colony, as well as an important centre for the Jewish & Christian communities. . . so much that even St. Paul lived in Corinth for a while! On this tour we're going to discover Corinth's history, visiting its archaeological site with the temple of Apollo still partly standing (6 c. B. C. onwards) and then the upper citadel called Acrocorinth, where today we can admire an incredible Middle Age castle built in the times of the Venetians' occupations. As you see, there are so many things to see and talk about here, and, as a Doctor in History, I'd love to share my passion for the past with you! We'll also go to Epidaurus after a nice meal, where, among beautiful green hills, we'll visit the Sanctuary of Asclepios, god of medicine, and its theatre (4 c. B. C. !) with its incredible and mysterious acoustics that'll leave you speechless.
·After meeting you at your hotel, we will start our tour with a professional driver taking care of our comfort and safety on the road. The trip to Corinth will take about an hour and a half. ·On the road, we'll have a stop at the Corinth Canal, with the possibility to walk on the stunning bridge connecting Attica to Peloponnese's region! ·We'll then visit the Corinth Archaeological Site and the Acrocorinth Site (partly) on the top of it. The latter can be challenging for people with disabilities, so it is not advised in case you are not comfortable in walking on a hill and difficult kind of roads. ·After a lunch break of about an hour, we'll head to Epidaurus Archaeological Site and visit the Sanctuary of Asclepius and its beautiful theatre. ·We'll then head back to Athens and the driver and I will take you back to your hotel. Consider that I can always customise this tour to your specific requests and needs.
