Starting from your hotel, we will walk to the Acropolis. The Acropolis is a hill which served as the fortress of Athens over a period of almost six thousand years continuously. It is crowned by the ancient temple of the goddess Athena, the Parthenon. After visiting the Acropolis we will descend to the Ancient Agora. The Agora was the heart of ancient Athens and is where Socrates taught, where the Athenians interacted in public, and where they manufactured and sold their beautiful artwork. Within the Agora we will find the most well preserved temple of the antiquity, the temple of Hephaistos. After visiting the Ancient Agora we will stroll through the picturesque neighborhoods of Plaka and return to your hotel.
Maria was a wonderful guide. She made the Agora come alive with her knowledge and story telling. And as we moved through the National Museum she was able to interpret and point out details that that brought context to the pieces we saw.
Maria was an excellent tour guide; prompt, knowledgeable, and entertaining. I loved that she adjusted her discussion to engage with my adult son on his interest in architecture as it pertained to the buildings we viewed. Her lunch recommendation was also a winner!

Maria guided us on a half-day classical Athens tour, and she was wonderful! Maria gave us the context and background for what we were seeing, and pointed out so many interesting details and anecdotes throughout. She was extremely thorough and knowledgeable, and we learned so much from such a brief time. She was a great communicator as well, and her English is flawless, making the tour even more engaging. I cannot recommend highly enough.
We had a late afternoon/early evening tour with Maria. Her knowledge of Athens’ history is very deep and full of interesting stories that made our time with her so pleasant. We would highly recommend Maria !!
Amazing. Maria is so knowledgeable on all aspects of the city. We had our 14 and 11 year old girls with us and she made sure she they were included and engaged the entire time. It was one of the hottest days in Athens and she made extra effort to keep everyone in the shade and take breaks. A wonderful tour with a wonderful guide.
