Join me on this extensive walking tour, addressed to all new and veteran travellers of Athens, history lovers and good walkers! Archaeology, history, mythology, art and architecture, people and Gods, artisans and poets, philosophers and statesmen, they all come together in my stories to reveal the Classical Age miracle: in the late 6th and the 5th centuries BC, the city of Athens introduced to the world the direct Democracy, the political system later adopted and adjusted by western governments. At the same time, theatre was born, tragedies and comedies, and magnificent edifices were constructed, to witness the splendour of one of the most significant historical periods for mankind. I crafted this tour inspired by the uniqueness of the monuments and the magic energy of the locations, wishing to join all dots together for my guests so that one of the most fascinating eras in the history of mankind comes alive right before their eyes.
We start our walk from the S gate of the Acropolis and from here we explore: *The ancient sanctuary and theatre of Dionysos: we discuss the emergence of the Ancient Greek Drama, how theatre was born in this ancient grounds for the entire world.
