One of my favorite and prettiest drives for the Athenians, 1 ½ hr, along the saronic gulf to reach the picturesque temple of Poseidon, built in the 5 th B. C that is built on the top of a cliff overlooking the Saronic Gulf on one side and the Aegean Sea on the other! This is the Athenian Riviera, most expensive part of Athens with the biggest European park soon built with pretty villas and sandy beaches! Then drive back and stop for a swim in the blue Saronic Gulf at a trendy sandy beach with water sports and showers and a choice of restaurants, in Varkiza resort or a meal on a greek taverna !
Diana was the star of this tour - she was extremely personable, knowledgeable and interesting. She paced the tour to our liking and even made a detour to show us some of art work that we wanted to see. We thoroughly enjoyed the day.
Diana is an exceptional guide with over 30 years of experience and perfect English. This tour was a delightful drive to the Temple of Poseidon along the beautiful Greek coastline. We stopped for a late lunch at a wonderful family restaurant on the way there. Diana offered us a sunset tour as an alternative, which I would highly recommend because we could have had dinner at the restaurant. Diana is so personable that we really got to be friends. She is a superstar.
We truly enjoyed our half day tour of Cape Sounio with Diana. After picking us up at our hotel, Diana took us on a most enjoyable tour of Athens, the coast, and the Temple of Poseidon. Diana enlightened and entertained us with her knowledge of Athens, the Greek culture and the historical sites. On the return trip, we had a wonderfully delicious meal of local cuisine at a local restaurant. -- Marilyn
Beautiful coastline. Nothing beats Sounio. With Diane the ancient world is revealed.
We drive for almost an hour and a half along the Saronic Gulf to Cape sounio to visit the temple of Poseidon and the damaged one of Athena Sounias across and then stop in Varkiza resort to swim or for a unforgettable meal in a greek taverna. On the way, we will see the expensive and upcoming south Riviera of Athens under development which is the new international real estate investments! Beautiful marinas, houses, the amazing Vouliagmeni lake for a photo or a coffee!
