Greetings! I'm Maria, an archaeologist and licensed tour guide with 29 years of experience, accredited to guide you through all museums and archaeological sites in Greece. My passion for history, mythology, ancient art, religion and architecture led me to a Bachelor's degree in Archaeology (1992), postgraduate studies in Ancient Buildings Restoration and Urban development at the Department of Architecture at NTUA (1994), and a Master's in PR, Marketing, and Advertising from the Hellenic American Union (2004). I’ve worked on archaeological excavations of several Bronze Age burial sites in Western Greece and served as a cultural consultant for a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for four years. Since 1997, I’ve guided tours with leading operators, and since 2017, as a freelancer, I design private tours and provide travel consultation based on my extensive experience and valuable feedback from travellers on what makes the "perfect tour". Maria is a phenomenal guide! In a thoughtful, engaging way, she explained so much interesting history of the Parthenon, Acropolis buildings/ruins, Athens and Greece in general. She answered all of our questions, happily took family photos throughout the tour, and made the day both educational and fun. She has a great personality, and we would absolutely choose Maria again and highly recommend her!
Wonderful day in Athens, seamless connectivity between each activity we experienced. Maria is a wealth of knowledge, very patient and attentive. Was able to show us places the masses miss. Our driver, Demetri, was very personable , able to navigate the city well. Overall, would happily recommend the tour to anyone wishing for a true embrace of the culture.

The tour starts from your hotel. It lasts 6 hours and during this time we explore all major sites and spots of interest: * The Acropolis and the Acropolis museum ( guided tour) * Temple of Zeus (driving by- views from the Acropolis) * Old Olympic Stadium (photo stop) * National Gardens (we take a short walk and a short break, if you wish!) * Parliament house, Memorial to the Unknown soldier (driving by- short stop for pictures, if possible) * University, Library, Academy (driving by) * Plaka old town area: a walk on and off the tourist track * Roman Agora and Tower of the winds (stop for pics) * Views over the Mars Hill, the Ancient Agora, Theatre of Dionysos, Odeon of Herodes Atiicus.
