During this tour, you will have the chance to visit the Acropolis hill, and admire the Parthenon; the temple devoted to Goddess Athena, the Propylea; the entrance to the sacred rock, the Temple of Wingless Victory which was devoted to Goddess Athena-Nike, the Erechtheum, the most sacred and mythical of all the temples in Acropolis with its famous Caryatides (female featured statues), the 5000-seat Odeon of Herodes Atticus which is still used for music festivals, the 13000-seat theatre of Dionysus where the Athenians listened to the immortal works of Sophocles, Aeschylus, Euripides and Aristophanes. Our driving tour includes stops to see, the Panathinaic Stadium, the Constitution square, with the Parliament, and the tomb of The Unknown Soldier. After touring in the center of Athens, we will drive along the beautiful coast line of Athens to reach Cape Sounio and visit the archaeological site where is the Temple of Poseidon.
Fantastic trip. Really appreciate the flexibility since we were on a cruise. Phillipe worked with our group to accommodate timing and desire to see specific monuments, while providing his own recommendations to help fill the gaps. Happy we decided to reach out. Philippos created a magical day for our family group of seven. He smoothed out many logistics for me that he was not required to do but did so anyway. His vehicle is a spacious well-maintained sprinter van, and there was more than enough room for seven people and seven suitcases. He gave us a tour of the cit before dropping some of us at the Acropolis and taking our less mobile members to a museum. He picked an amazing seaside lunch restaurant where we enjoyed a delicious authentic Greek meal. We finished the day with an afternoon tour of the temple of Poseidon before being returned back to our hotels. Philippos was kind, knowledgable, flexible, interesting, and shared his love of Athens and its history with us. I highly recommend booking a tour with him.
Philippe was a phenomenal tour guide. Well versed on the city and history. He was very accommodating with the things we wanted to see. The added bonus was he suggested the changing of the Guard at Constitution Square which was an event not to be missed if there on a Sunday. Philippe was an exceptional guide. Understandable and very informative. He was extremely flexible in modifying the trip to our needs and adjusting to some traffic problems. picked us up in a beautiful comfortable van. we asked for a restaurant overlooking the ocean for lunch and he delivered with a wonderful little place. Out of this world moussaka. Most importantly, Philippe was engaging with a good sense of humor. You won’t be disappointed with Philippe.

We had a wonderful time with Philippe Christodoulopoulos showing us all the sights and also giving us a very educational history lesson regarding Greece, Athens, Greek Mythology and anything related. After your breakfast, the first visit will be the Archaeological site of the Acropolis. The average visit is One and half hours, enough to explore, on your own, this magnificent site with its amazing monuments. After your visit, we will drive to the historical center of Athens, seeing some of the most beautiful buildings from the 19th century, as been described above. The drive usually takes an hour. Then by driving the southern part of Athens, (its coastline that exceeds 70 Km), in about 1 hour (depending on the traffic conditions) we will reach Cape Sounio. Time to visit the Archeological Site of Cape Sounio, where the ancient Doric Temple of Poseidon is perched on its steep cliffs. According to an old Athenian legend, the mythical King Aegeas committed suicide from these cliffs, because he believed that his beloved son Theseus was killed by Minotaur. The tour concludes with a relaxed road trip back to Athens
