Overview of your Athens tour
This short trip gives the opportunity to the visitors that have limited time to see the highlights of Athens in few hours. You are going to learn many things about the history and mythology of Athens, covering the Period of the Mycenaean civilization, the Greek dark ages, the Archaic period and the golden age of Pericles. I have to mention that I am not a licensed tour guide so I will not be able to guide you inside a historical monument or a museum.
Your Athens tour itinerary
This 3 hours sightseeing tour in Athens starts by visiting the naturally fortified hill of the Acropolis. The tour includes a walk that travels the visitors through ancient times. You will visit the Acropolis Hill, Propylea, the temple of Athena Nike, Parthenon, Erechtheion, Dionysus Theatre and the Odeon of Herodes Atticos , Areopagus or Mars Hill (the old supreme court of Athens). After the Acropolis, we are going to see the highlights of Athens by car. The Temple of Zeus and the Hadrian's Arch, The Panathenaic Stadium where the first modern Olympic Games were revived on 1896. We will see the presidential Guards in front of the Greek Parliament and then, the trilogy (Academy, University , National library). Then we'll pass by the Roman forum located in Plaka, the old part of the city, and finally Monastiraki where you will have the opportunity for a short visit at the flea market. The tour ends in Athens center or at Piraeus port .
