Greetings from Greece! My name is Nektarios and I am a local at the city of Athens. I speak Greek and English fluently and I have been working as a licensed taxi driver and tour guide for the past 18 years. I chose this profession because I have always liked cars and driving in general. I am also a car engineer graduate and I work part time as a high school professor. This has given me the chance always be aware of my vehicles and be able to understand and overcome any situation. My current vehicle is a Mercedes E class. I believe that one word that would perfectly describe my personality is passionate. Passionate about my country. Passionate about my work. Passionate to adapt and try to do the best I can. I have always loved Greece and especially its rich history and culture. In fact, I can hardly think of a time that I did not want to open another history or mythology book in order to further extend my knowledge. Seven years ago I gave my first tour around Athens and so I had my first chance to try to pass my passion to others. I've loved it ever since. After that I have been working hard gathering pictures, videos and additional information to provide my customers with. Finding various local restaurants for them to try the famous Greek traditional cuisine and small out-of-the-way places that attract way less travellers and provide them with unique experiences. I am also one of the few Private Drivers in Athens who has passed and been issued with a Greek Certification Diploma from 2007 as a certified driver-guide by EOT (Greek National Tourism Organization), Everything I do is for my customer's satisfaction, happiness and entertainment. It would be an honour to continue this with you. Together we will uncover the rich History and uniqueness of Greece while having fun in the process. I look forward to meeting you. This tour has been personally designed so that you can make the most out of your layover and make the boring hours between flights something engaging and fun. It's a tour that I am passionate about as I aspire to make you feel the same love that I do for my city and make you want to come back. What I find really interesting is that in the end every traveller has a different story which I am always happy to hear and cherish. Starting from the airport we will visit The Acropolis, the Temple of Zeus and Arch of Hadrian, the Stadium of the 1896 Olympiad, the Greek parliament, the changing of the royal guards, the trilogy of neoclassical buildings (university, academy, library) and the breathtaking panoramic view of Athens from Mt. Lycabettus. We will spend the remaining time in the Ancient Greek and Roman Agora located in Plaka. In general you are going to experience Greece's rich and unique history by visiting some remarkable structures that even after all those years can still astonish anyone
We had a great tour of Athens. Nektarios was the best guide we have ever had. His insight into to history of Athens was amazing and impressive. He had a wealth of information. He was also able to discuss more modern history which made the tour very enjoyable. If we ever get back to Athens, we will definitely get in touch with Nektarios and his family.

Outstanding experience. Nektarios arrived earlier than expected in order to help us improve the use of our available time. He is very knowledgeable in the Greek history and speaks very good English. He adjusted the itinerary to accommodate all our requests.
Starting from the airport we will head straight to the city centre and visit the Acropolis hill which includes the Parthenon, Propylaea, Temple of Athena Nike, Erechtheion, Dionysus Theatre and Herodes Atticus Odeon. Then we will head to the temple of Zeus, the arch of Hadrian and the old Olympic stadium. After that we will see the change of the royal guards in the Greek Parliament by Syntagma square. We will also enjoy the view of Athens from Mt. Lycabettus. We will spend the remaining time in the Ancient Greek and Roman Agora located in Plaka. Finally we will head back to the international airport so you can catch your next flight. Bear in mind that the itinerary can be adjusted based on traffic or your preferences.
