Greetings from Greece! My name is Nektarios and I am a local at the city of Athens. I speak Greek and English fluently and I have been working as a licensed taxi driver and tour guide for the past 18 years. I chose this profession because I have always liked cars and driving in general. I am also a car engineer graduate and I work part time as a high school professor. This has given me the chance always be aware of my vehicles and be able to understand and overcome any situation. My current vehicle is a Mercedes E class. I believe that one word that would perfectly describe my personality is passionate. Passionate about my country. Passionate about my work. Passionate to adapt and try to do the best I can. I have always loved Greece and especially its rich history and culture. In fact, I can hardly think of a time that I did not want to open another history or mythology book in order to further extend my knowledge. Seven years ago I gave my first tour around Athens and so I had my first chance to try to pass my passion to others. I've loved it ever since. After that I have been working hard gathering pictures, videos and additional information to provide my customers with. Finding various local restaurants for them to try the famous Greek traditional cuisine and small out-of-the-way places that attract way less travellers and provide them with unique experiences. I am also one of the few Private Drivers in Athens who has passed and been issued with a Greek Certification Diploma from 2007 as a certified driver-guide by EOT (Greek National Tourism Organization), Everything I do is for my customer's satisfaction, happiness and entertainment. It would be an honour to continue this with you. Together we will uncover the rich History and uniqueness of Greece while having fun in the process. I look forward to meeting you. Overview of your Athens tour
What my travellers enjoy most about this tour is that it includes a complete and unique experience of visiting Athens. They often ask me ''What's more?'' which is a question I always love to answer. It's a tour that I am passionate about as I aspire to make you feel the same love that I do for my city and make you want to come back. What I find really interesting is that in the end every traveller has a different story which I am always happy to hear and cherish. We will visit The Acropolis, the Temple of Zeus and Arch of Hadrian, the Stadium of the 1896 Olympiad , the Greek parliament, the changing of the royal guards, the trilogy of neoclassical buildings and the breathtaking panoramic view of Athens from mt. Lycabetos. We will spend the remaining time in the Ancient Greek and Roman Agora located in Plaka where you will have the opportunity to taste the Greek Cuisine at a traditional restaurant and visit either the New Acropolis Museum or the National Archaeological museum.

He was a wonderful guide! So much knowledge of the area, it was very informative! We liked that he also had a screen in his car and was able to show us information and pictures, it really helps by seeing what he's describing. This was a great 1 day taste of Athens and its history and we also loved the restaurant he took us to for lunch, it was delicious!

We felt super lucky to have booked Nektarios. He is a personable engaging presence with deep knowledge of the city and its history. It’s obvious he loves to share this with travelers and to provide a wonderful orientation to the sights and experiences of Athens. He was a skilled careful driver in Athens extreme traffic and narrow byways. As he told us about Athens history and the sights, he used a tablet with photos and illustrations of the original monuments to help us understand the ruins we’d be seeing. He knew how to get us close to entrances and always had a plan for how we should contact him as we were leaving so that he could be nearby to retrieve us. He asked us a few questions about the type of restaurant we’d like for lunch and picked a perfect spot for us to enjoy a “tasting menu” at FiveFs, a truly local neighborhood place with a devoted following.

Amazing tour we were safely shown many highlights of Athens. He was very knowledgeable and entertaining we were even taught a little Greek language and its interpretations. He arranged the tour around our schedule and even went out of his way to by helping us pick up our lost luggage at the airport. We learned a lot from him and really enjoyed our time spent. We highly recommend reserving time early for his services because they are very sought after and if you reserve you will be pleased with this tour. Will use his services hopefully next time we come to Athens.
Your Athens tour itinerary
Starting from our meeting location we will head to the city centre and visit the Acropolis hill which includes the Parthenon, Propylaea, Temple of Athena Nike, Erechtheion, Dionysus Theatre and Herodes Atticus Odeon. Then we will head to the temple of Zeus , the arch of Hadrian and the old Olympic stadium. After that we will see the change of the royal guards in the Greek Parliament by Syntagma square. We will also enjoy the view of Athens from Mt. Lycabettus. We will spend the remaining time in the Ancient Greek and Roman Agora located in Plaka. There you will be able to visit Keramikos cemetery and the New Acropolis Museum or the National Archaeological Museum. You are also going to have the opportunity to taste the Greek Cuisine at a traditional restaurant. If we start our tour from Piraeus port you will also see coast part of the city. Bear in mind that the itinerary can be adjusted based on traffic or your preferences.
