Athens Half Day Food tour

This tour is a 5 hrs walk through the old city of Athens to explore its hidden "tasty" corners. Living in Plaka for many years, looking through my window the old Athenians talking to each other from their windows across, doing shopping in the authentic fish-meat-spices market where my grandpa used to take me as a child, have inspired me to create this tour. We will have the chance to visit many places and taste various Greek specialities, such as "loukoumades" (Dumplings with Honey), Greek Salad with a "Meze", Greek coffee, Yoghurt with Honeymoon or fruits. We can buy Greek pistachios from Egina island and visit the meat-fish- herbs market in Athinas street where most Athenians buy their home grocery! Walking through areas where cars do not, tasting food you would never imagine and experiencing the every day life we run, should be a must for all visitors.

Depending where our meeting point will be, the tour will be adjusted accordingly. On our way we will see: - The tower of The Winds - The Lisikratous monument - The roman agora and library We will also visit: - A Greek Orthodox Church - The meat, fish, herbs market place with many stops to try greek delicatessen!
