Overview of your Athens tour
This tour is a 5 hrs walk through the old city of Athens to explore its hidden "tasty" corners. Living in Plaka for many years, looking through my window the old Athenians talking to each other from their windows across, doing shopping in the authentic fish-meat-spices market where my grandpa used to take me as a child, have inspired me to create this tour. We will have the chance to visit many places and taste various Greek specialities, such as "loukoumades" (Dumplings with Honey), Greek Salad with a "Meze", Greek coffee, Yoghurt with Honeymoon or fruits. We can buy Greek pistachios from Egina island and visit the meat-fish- herbs market in Athinas street where most Athenians buy their home grocery! Walking through areas where cars do not, tasting food you would never imagine and experiencing the every day life we run, should be a must for all visitors.

Diana picked us up at airport and off we went to Plaka, by the ancient Agora in Athens for a food tasting experience. She was engaging and eager to show us a part of Greek culture. We had charcuterie of meats and cheeses, gyros, a dessert with honey and cinnamon, and we finished with coffee with a view of the Acropolis. We visited many shops and it was a nicely paced introduction to our 2.5 days in Athens and she dropped us at our hotel.
