Athens Full Day Shore Excursion

Starting from your cruise terminal, we will drive into Athens. We will begin with a city drive in which we will see some of the highlights of down-town Athens. Among other sites, we will see the temple of Zeus, the Panathenean stadium, the National Gardens, the Parliament building and the tomb of the Unknown Soldier where time depending we will see the changing of the guards. Then we will head to the Acropolis. The Acropolis is a hill which served as the fortress of Athens over a period of almost six thousand years continuously. It is crowned by the ancient temple of the goddess Athena, the Parthenon. After visiting the Acropolis we will descend to the Ancient Agora, the heart of the ancient city where we will see the temple of Hephaistos. From there, we will reach the picturesque neighborhoods of Plaka where we will take a break for lunch. Then, we will tour the New Acropolis Museum and finally return back to the port.
