Hello from Athens, Greece! My name is Andreas and I have been a professional tour driver in Athens for 22 years. I was born in Chios, the island where Homer - the blind poet of antiquity - lived, and wrote the poems of Iliad and Odyssey. Welcome to Athens the birth place of Democracy and Phylosophi. My vehicle is an SUV Kodiaq very modern and comfortable. Athens is considered the birth place of the western civilization and is the capital of Greece. In few hours you are going to learn with me many things about the history and the Mythology of Athens covering the Periods of the Mycenaean civilization the Greek dark ages the Archaic period and the golden age of Pericles. After Athens we are going to see the Amazing Athenian Riviera the lake of Vouliagmeni and Varkiza. Driving through the most beautiful and reach suburbs of Athens. At the end before we return back to Athens you'll enjoy your lunch in a traditional Greek restaurant. I have to mention I am not a licensed tour guide so I will not be able to guide you inside a historical monument or a museum.
Andreas was a wonderful guide. He showed the four of us the main highlights of Athens and then drove us along the Greek Riviera where we saw some beautiful property, had an opportunity to view the medicinal lake (plan to swim their next time) and enjoyed a lovely lunch. We would recommend Andreas as both a driver and a guide and hope to have an opportunity to use his services again.
Andreas was very knowledgeable and put together a fabulous itinerary. I'd give him and the 6-hour tour 6 stars if I could. Very nice combo of Athens highlights, a seaside drive, and lunch at a tasty Greek Taverna.
Andreas was very friendly and accommodating. I loved that we were able to see the main city attractions as well as the coast all in one day!
Andreas was waiting for us in his nice Mercedes right at the port when we got off our ship. He took us straight away to the Temple of Athena and helped procure tickets for all our stops so we could avoid lines at the crowded sites we would visit later. He then took us to the Parthenon and was right there waiting for us when we were done. He then toured us around a variety of sites including an incredible panoramic view of Athens before dropping us at a great tavern for a scrumptious lunch.
