I started doing this tour because, as a true local, I am pleased to introduce visitors to my country, showing them our monuments and giving them a glimpse of Greek culture. This private tour is the best way to see Athens and Sounio in one only day! Our tour starts with the Acropolis, where you will see the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheum, and the famous Parthenon. We will head towards the Temple of Zeus by way of Hadrian's Arch and we will visit Panathenaic Stadium where the first modern Olympic Games were held in 1896. Next driving alongside, we will see the changing of the guard. We'll see the architectural trilogy of Athens and then, moving into the historical center of the city, we will drive up the highest hill of Athens, Lycabettus Hill. We will have a pleasant drive along the Athenian Riviera and make a stop at the famous Vouliagmeni Lake. Finally, we will arrive at Poseidon's Temple at Sounio which dominates above the sea. For those of you looking for a tour of Athens by a true local, this is the tour for you. We went to all of the places easily; and the guide adjusted the day to the things we wanted to stay and explore a bit longer. The guide was knowledgeable and integrated historical references throughout our tour. We enjoyed the tour of Athens and beyond. I highly recommend.
