Hello, and welcome to Athens. My name is Panos and I'll be your local guide in this beautiful city that I call home. As a local, living in central Athens and a licensed tourist guide, I'm always excited about introducing guests to the city's rich history. My aim is to introduce visitors, not only to the city's sites and monuments, but also to its unique culture, architecture and modern life. What I consider essential, is breathing life into monuments and adding historical and cultural context to the sites we visit. My working experience as a guide has taught me how to be flexible and how to adjust the tours to the individuals' and groups' special needs and interests. Guiding guests to the city's sites has also turned out to be a great opportunity to interact with people from all over the world, people with different backgrounds, ideas and experiences. My academic background is in History, Archaeology and Political Science. I have a Bachelor's Degree in History, a Master's Degree in International and European Relations, and a second Master's Degree in the Archaeology of the Eastern Mediterranean. I am still engaged in Academia, conducting research on Human Migration in the University of Athens. I have a passion for learning foreign languages: I'm fluent in English, German and French, and I'm currently learning Russian and Spanish. I have always believed that the beauty of life lies in our ability to broaden our horizons, with books, courses, art, travelling and new experiences. Let me share with you my enthusiasm about the city's millennia-old history and its amazing vibes. I'm looking forward to hearing from you. Licensed Tourist Guide (Greek Ministry of Tourism) Bachelor's Degree in History (Ionian University) Master's Degree in International & European Relations (National & Kapodistrian University of Athens). Master's Degree in Archaeology of the Eastern Mediterranean, from Prehistory to Late Antiquity (University of the Aegean). Certificate of Proficiency in English (University of Cambridge, UK) Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française DALF C2 (Ministère de l'Éducation Nationale, FR) Kleines Deutsches Sprachdiplom (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität, München, DE). I am only delivering walking tours, since I am not a driver guide, nor a professional driver.

The city of Athens is often called an enormous open air museum, hosting some of the most important archaeological sites in the world. Explore the best the city of Athens has to offer with this complete archaeological walk that covers almost all sites in Athens, namely the Acropolis, the Ancient Greek Agora, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Cemetery of Kerameikos and the Hill of Pnyx. From the Acropolis Temples to the ruins of the ancient City Centre and from the impressive ancient theatres to the ancient parliament of Athens, indulge in a concise 6-hour tour that will help you explore the places where Democracy, Theatre and Arts were born. Wander in the places where Pericles consolidated the basic principles of Democracy, where Socrates taught his fellow Athenians about the meaning of life and where Euripides and Sophocles performed their tragedies with their everlasting messages.
The tour will start with a visit at the ruins of the glorious Temple of Olympian Zeus. Next, on the sacred Acropolis Rock, we will view the splendid Acropolis Temples and monuments (the Parthenon, the Erechteion, the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike) and the Theatres on the southern slope of the Acropolis. Our Acropolis visit will allow us to discuss the flourishing of Arts and Theatre in ancient Athens, in combination with the history and politics of the ancient city. Next, we will visit the Hill of Pnyx, where the ancient Assembly of the People used to discuss city affairs, before we head to the serene Cemetery of Kerameikos with its fine funerary monuments and the remains from the ancient city walls. In the Ancient Greek Agora, the city centre of Athens in the past, guests will view the exquisite Temple of Hephaestus, the ruins of the Agrippa Odeon and the rebuilt Attalos Portico, while discovering at the same time different aspects of private and public life in ancient Athens.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
