I am Eugenia, born and raised in Athens. I have been working for the past nineteen years as a licensed tour guide all over Greece;A beautiful country rich in myths and history, art and monuments, and a great influence to modern civilization. This is what all the guide books tell you, but what about the people behind all these achievements? What about today? Leave your books at home, and join me in a tour to past and present no matter how much time you have! Licensed tour guide Graduate of the Tourist Guide School of Athens 1997.

This tour is a great way to get orientated and see why I love living in Athens. It combines all the sites you should see, from the Acropolis of the past to the bustling center of the city today. We visit the Acropolis Hill and learn how this city set the foundations of western civilization. In the Acropolis Museum, we admire magnificent sculptures from the Acropolis temples and learn about daily life in ancient times. We will see Hadrian's Arch, a remnant of the city's Roman past, on our way to the all-marble Old Olympic Stadium where the first modern Olympics were held in 1896. We stroll through the National Garden where the Athenians enjoy the peace and shade in the summer. We stop at the Old Palace to take pictures of the Evzones, or Presidential Guards. We are already in the heart of the city, Syntagma Square. We continue with a short walk to end the tour at a convenient spot, where from you can explore more of the city center, or the old town of Athens, Plaka.
