Hi! I am Katerina, an archaeologist and licensed tour guide in Greece. Fancy for fun and educational guided tours? I am always ready to share with all of you Happy Tour Moments. So, come along! It was said by Heraclitus and explains how I feel about life in general; «τα πάντα ῥεῖ» (ta panta rhei) "everything flows". I was born and raised in Piraeus, the great port of Athens from Antiquity till nowadays. I took my first degree in History and Archaeology with specialisation in Archaeology and History of Arts from the NCUA, University of Athens. I continued with my studies in the UK where I obtained my MSc in Archaeological Computing from the University of Southampton. My dissertation "An INTRA-SITE analysis of the architectural structure of the Bronze Age settlement of Akrotiri" arranges space in the hope of identifying a more accurate sing of people's movements to and within of its one of the three chosen different edifices of this unique prehistoric settlement of Santorini. Since the completion of my MSc, I have been working for the last 14 years as a filed archaeologist in Athens and all over Greece. I have also taken part in a three years project where I was responsible for creating educational programs and writing books, focused on local history and culture of four chosen greek regions; Nafplion, Volos, Heraklion and the small farm-settlement of Zakros. In 2015 I obtained the official diploma of Licensed Tour Guide and since then I am also tour guiding in English, Greek (mother language), and soon in French too. I love meeting and interacting with new people who choose my country as their holiday destination, and sharing with them my enthusiasm for greek culture, local traditions & nature. I somehow feel that my entire professional career led me to this point and my experience as a licensed tour guide is very fulfilling. My knowledge and expertise in Archaeology & Educational Programs gives me the opportunity to provide accurate information and create enjoyable guided experiences for every occasion, always adjusted to the age and the interest of my clients. I believe that the landscape and the climate have a great impact in the formation of the past societies and I tend to present every site, region, monument in association with its topography, historical events & myths. My main goal is to shed light on the living conditions, needs, fears and expectations of the ancient people, while I am trying to compare and connect them with the contemporary ones. You could join me in a guided tour in Athens or elsewhere in Greece upon request (the earlier you give me your notice the better I respond to your requests). Enjoy life, be well . . . and never forget that "everything flows" !!! *Licensed Tour Guide (as a certified guide since 2015 by the Ministry of Tourism, I'm accredited in all museums and archaeological sites of the country) *Archaeologist Bachelor's Degree in History and Archaeology (NCUA, Athens) Master of Science in Computing Archaeology (Southampton University, UK) I am not a driver. I can arrange transportation upon request.

Past, present and future are united under the blue Attic sky. Where? At the sacred rock of the Acropolis and the New Acropolis Museum. This classic "recipe" is a must tour for you that you have limited time of stay in Athens and a great introduction for you that you will spend much more days in the city. When? There are two offered options: A. If you are an early bird you go for the early morning tour; 8 a. m. to 12 p. m. B. If you prefer the comfort of the afternoon and evening light with the less possible crowds, you go for the late afternoon tour; 4 p. m. to 8 p. m. And if you ask me this is perfect for time travel. *** The proposed time options are set according to the time schedule of high season (April to October). For the ones you are visiting Athens during low season, it can be set according to your preferred time.

What a great tour! Our group of 8 all learned so much. Katerina was so passionate and knowledgeable about Greek history and the Acropolis, it was infectious. She was also so generous with her time and also very accommodating to our group as we visited the Museum first and the Acropolis second. This was an excellent tour, by an exceptional, well qualified and knowledgeable tour guide. I can highly recommend Katerina without reservation.
Great tour with Katerina. She is very passionate about Greece and Greek history and archeology. She loves to share her knowledge with stories and comparisons to modern times. Quite entertaining! She noticed we were tired from our flight (just arrived) and she monitored us to keep moving at a good pace. After the tour I asked about nearby restaurants and she recommended one Opos Palia (roughly translated "As Old" or "Too Old")- excellent!
Katerina is a delightful person and has so much knowledge about Athens, the Acropolis, and Greece in general. She provided me with a reminder text the night before the tour and recommendations for the rest of our visit to her lovely country. I recommend her without reservation.
We booked Katerina for three consecutive tours over three days in Greece and so we spent over 16 hours total with her. Unfortunately, we were somewhat of a challenging group due to the physical disability of one member of our party and the cognitive deficits of another member of our party, but for the entire three days, Katerina was the most caring, patient, but passionate tour guide you could ask for. She does not just recite what you can already read on the signs at the tourist sites, but rather held fascinating discussions with the group about details of the sites and often times compared it to the current culture of Greece and other parts of the world. When you are flying almost halfway around the world to see such ancient and fascinating sites you want to have the best experience possible and I HIGHLY recommend Katerina for your tours of Greece !!!
Katerina A. was exceptional. Her archeological background gave great depth and meaning to the tour and her "real world" explanations for what the ancients were likely doing and feeling and bringing it into our "modern world" gave the tour true meaning. I would highly recommend her tour.
