The tour includes famous historical sites like Olympia, Mycenae, Mistras, and Monemvasia plus a rare and unique chance to discover the hidden treasures of the Peloponnese. I hope to have the pleasure to share with your family this exciting experience. Together we will have the privilege to step on the athletic track used during the ancient Olympic games! Olympia is a unique location that echoes past glory and great achievements in sports and culture. The museum that we are going to visit is full of artefacts and great works of artisans that were found around the area. The famous palace of King Agamemnon awaits us in Mycenae, where we are going to discover the first Cycladic civilisation and its offerings to the ancient world. Mistras is the finest preserved Byzantine medieval castle in Greece. We are going through its exceptional Byzantine churches and appreciate the tranquility of this place. Monemvasia is going to be the highlight of this tour, as it combines a flair of natural beauty and historical value.
Your Athens tour itinerary
Day 1: We start our tour from Athens, heading towards Corinth. We visit the ancient acropolis of Corinth past the isthmus and spend the night in Nafplion. Day 2: Mycenae visit and 2 hours ride to Sparta. We will spend the night there. Day 3: Drive from Sparta to Mystras Byzantine town and then 90 drive to Monemvasia where we spend the night. We sleep in a hotel outside the town Day 3: we hike around the medieval town and its unique surroundings. The same day in the evening we depart towards Plitra where we spend the night Day 4: We visit the ancient submerged underwater city of Asopos. We then head off to Mani and have a short stop at Gythio. Diros caves are our next destination. We spend the night in Areopolis. Day 5: we travel to Kalamata and visit ancient Messini and the castle of Methoni. We sleep over in Methoni. Day 6: we head off to Olympia and back to Athens
