Even if I was born in Britain I fell in love with the former 3 Gauls Capital 25 years ago after discovering the city by chance. How incredible! Travelling for 15 years all around the world as a flight attendant I decided to settle down in Lyon with my whole family in 2012. For 12 years now I have been welcoming and guiding many kind of visitors such as retired people, whole families or school groups of various ages and levels. As I can speak many differents foreign languages, it is a real pleasure for me to welcome English or German speaking travellers. And of course as a French citizen, my mother language is French. Guiding in Lyon offers a wonderfull opportunity to show aswell the extraordinary rich architecture since the Middle Ages, as to discover classical Fine-arts or modern museums. As the French capital of Gastronomy Lyon proposes an incredible range of fresh products and amazing restaurants. My major pleasure is to tell visitors the story of that typical regional tradition of gathering and eating together in our small "bouchons" restaurants. I am fond of sharing and transmitting my love for whatever makes France and especially Lyon such an amazing place to be! I can't wait meeting you soon. I passed my degree to become an international licensed tourist guide (card number GC1393024P) in 2012 at Marne-La-Vallée University (near Paris). With my degree I'm able to propose visits anywhere in France aswell in Lyon where I am settled now for 7 years as in Paris, a city I know much. I have a driving license since 1989 and able to guide driving if needed. As a former flight attendant I am skilled in providing first-aid help, which can be usefull in case of faintness. No restrictions concerning the visits I propose except my Private Tour in The Covered Market of Lyon not available on Mondays as many restaurants and shops have their day off.

If you wonder why is the Croix-Rousse Hill so famous, you choosed the perfect tour! This place was the location of silk workers who built the worldwide reputation of Lyon. But since the last ten years, these winding streets are offering a wonderful playground for the street artists. I fell in love with the district 15 years ago, when I settled down in Lyon. As I was born in 68 I instantly realized that the wind of an artistic revolution was blowing there! . Proposing a new way to smarten up the buildings of the hill slopes, the young but talented lyonnaise artists express their passion for painting and telling stories, according to their mood nor the size of the wall. You will be amazed to discover not only real cartoons but also pieces of art honouring artists.
The journey starts on the top of the hill with one of the major murals of the district. Surely that tour is made for taking lots of pictures, so you will! Following the inspiration of the local street artists, I will try my best to soak you up in their technics, purposes and life courses. Going inside hidden passageways we will pause to enjoy different samples designed on naked walls or even housing buildings! Most of the time it is possible to sit down on banks or low walls. Then we follow gently the slope, making a stop in the former plants garden of the city. And finally we reach the peninsula down the hill for a very last stop admiring an impressive mural. It is depicting the whole story of Lyon from the past until today highlighting its main characters. The walk consists in 2km (1, 25 miles) maximum. Don't hesitate to wear comfortable shoes! Don't hesitate to contact me if you any questions or suggestions about my itinerary.

This tour is a walking one. But to reach the top of Croix Rousse Hill, don't hesitate to use the public transportations. The metro takes you only 5/10 minutes from the peninsula to the meeting point.
Airport: ,Cruise: ,ByGuide: Meeting point at Place des Tapis (Tapis square) nearby the Croix Rousse metro station.
