Hi everybody, My name's Jean. I am a tour guide in the beautiful city of Lyon, my hometown. I was born and raised there and it is my pleasure to welcome you to this incredible place. I graduated in Art History and Archeology, but I am passionate about World War II and the history of the Jewish people. I studied also the American Civil War and the world of the impressionists. My goal is to reveal you the different sides of my hometown, so that you become, at the end of your tour, a real Lyonnais! Weaving the history of Lyon into the present day city. Extensive knowledge of history and all things Lyon & France. My wife and I became interested in the Resistance movement during WWII after reading the true story of Virgina Hall in a book title “A Woman of No Importance “. •The hill of Fourvière, its basilica and its roman theaters (stop, walking and panoramic view). •From Fourvière, we walk down the hill to the Old Town. •In the Old Town, you will discover its secret corridors ("les traboules"). We go inside these corridors to see their incredible architecture. •From the Old Town, we cross the Saône river to see la Presqu'île. •The Presqu'île and its XIXth century Parisian atmosphere will charm you (walking, taking pictures, stop at place Bellecour which is Lyon's most popular square).
