Hi everybody, My name's Jean. I am a tour guide in the beautiful city of Lyon, my hometown. I was born and raised there and it is my pleasure to welcome you to this incredible place. What I want is to tell you stories. I believe in the magical power of stories, because no matter where we come from, stories connect us and invite us on wonderful journeys! Stories are universal and carry values that we all cherish, so if you love stories, I am your man. I graduated in Art History and Archeology, but I am passionate about World War II and the history of the Jewish people. I studied also the American Civil War and the world of the impressionists. All this background has helped me to always keep in mind one important thing that my father also told me : history is great when it's shared. My goal is to reveal you the different sides of my hometown, so that you become, at the end of your tour, a real Lyonnais! Overview of your Lyon tour

Do you love colors ? Do you love paintings on buildings that tell you stories ? Are you an art-addict ? If you answer "yes" to any of these questions, this tour is for you ! Lyon is the city of murals, where artists express their talent on buildings to tell us stories. Many of the artworks that you see on this tour have been influenced by the great Mexican artist Diego Rivera, who at the beginning of the XXth century, chose to educate its people thanks to the power of art. Your journey will take you the best murals you can find in Lyon and will end to the incredible series of murals of the "Cité Idéale" in the suburb of "les Etats-Unis" (more than 25 murals in a single neighbourhood!). I graduated in Art History and I did many public lectures on Vincent Van Gogh. I will share my humble experience to create a true artistic journey for you :) This tour offers you the best of multi-colored Lyon !

Jean was friendly and engaging. He organized this tour in an authentic and engaging way. He started with a basic grounding on what constitutes a mural and how is it differentiated from other forms of outdoor artwork (eg fresco, graffiti, etc). He then took us to 5 amazing murals. He approached/revealed each mural in a creative and thoughtful way. He paced the tour based on our needs. He shared much useful information, but in a way that allowed us to digest and engage in the experience. We would highly recommend Jean as a guide and subject matter expert.

Where do I begin? This is such a unique way to see Lyon and Jean is just amazing! We learned so much about the art and the artists, but also about Lyon and its people. My husband and Jean even exchanged Instagram pages so they could share more street art. Fantastic tour with a fantastic guide -- excellent communication, patient with all our questions, making sure we were getting what we wanted out of the tour -- it doesn't get much better! Your Lyon tour itinerary

Suggested route: •Straying point: the hill of la Croix-Rousse with the biggest mural of the city center. •Ending point: the quais of the Saône. This itinerary is just an indication of what we will see because as we have dozens and dozens of murals in Lyon, and this in each districts, we can change our route according to the time left and to your personal tastes. There is no definite itinerary : as art is subjective, so must be the path we take :)
