Here is an exemple of a day I would choose if I was a traveller in Lyon : In the morning, a nice historical walking tour to discover the roots of the city from Fourviere hill, where the Romans settled : discover the famous Fourviere basilica, the Roman theatres, the lovely old town and one painted wall about the famous Lyonnais. Then, around noon, a gourmet walk to the covered market "Les Halles" and a light lunch of specialties (or not, you decide !). In the afternoon : A tour of Croix Rousse hill which is also a historical district of Lyon but with a very different history : you'll discover how silk weaving has "made" the city and you will visit a real silk workshop.
Just lovely. We came across an artist's shop that does watercolors of botanicals, and went back after the tour to buy several things. He is our new favorite artist. The tour was great, and just what we wanted. We loved delving into the "secret" doors and passages that were off the beaten track. I can't wait to go back.
I would highly recommend Clemence as a tour guide. We took a full day private tour of Lyon France. Clemence was excellent at presenting historical and artistic facts. She kept the tour moving but did not rush us. We covered many locations that we would not have found without her. The next day she was the tour guide for our ship excursion and did an equally great job. If you want a comprehensive view of the city of Lyon, then please select Clemence.
Clemence was great! We engaged her for a full day asking her to put together two of her prescribed tours. She emailed us to find our interests so she could then fill out the tour. Day of the tour we met and reviewed what we had seen in our two days prior to the tour so that we would not duplicate anything we'd already seen. Clemence was able to change the tour to remove anything we hadn't seen and include a good part of the city we hadn't considered. I would use Clemence again next time we're in Lyon
I booked 2 days of the open day tour, with initially a very broad plan. Clemence had never tried to do this type of tour but dove in and gave it her all. As time got close she was smooth in keeping in touch when I wrote to change the focus. From day 1 I felt like she was personally invested in my trip being a complete success. Her incredible knowledge was a joy to learn from. She also allowed time for quiet, great for introverts like me. I would surely place her in my top 5 guides of the 100s I have used
My daughter and I spent a wonderful day with Clémence on the "Full Day with a Lyonnaise" tour. We visited beautiful churches, the old city, the traboules, the silk workers neighborhood, Les Halles, the Roman ruins and much more. We saw the incredible street art. Clémence is very personable and extremely knowledgeable about the city and it's history. We learned so much and enjoyed every minute. We highly recommend Clémence.

Here is the suggested itinerary for a full day in Lyon : - Meeting on Place de Fourviere between 9 am and 10 am to discover the basilica Notre Dame de Fourviere. - Walk to the Roman theatres (two unique theatres very well conserved). - Hike down the hill to enter the Renaissance district along the river. - Stroll throught the old town and its famous "traboules", hidden passageways throught the buildings. - Cross the river Saone to admire the painted wall "la fresque des Lyonnais". - Visit of Les Halles de Lyon and explanations about the french and local gastronomy - Visit about the silk history of Lyon and stroll down the Croix-Rousse hill. Visit of a traditionnal Lyon silk workshop. End of the tour on the Peninsula district.
