Hello there ! I am Jérémie, full-time tour guide and holder of the professional Tour Guide card. I was born in Lyon in 1990 and I'm still in love with my hometown city. When I was a kid, I spent a lot of time exploring my city, reading stories about it, hearing my grand-mother telling me how the city was when she was my age. That's how you fall in love with a city. When I was 18, I went to University of Lyon to study History. I studied History for five years, lived in Canada for one year, then one year in Australia, came back here, graduated, and became a professional tour guide. Now, I'm working as a full time tour guide in and around my hometown. Best job ever if you ask me, especially when you're passionate about something: telling you all the stories I've learnt that make me think that Lyon and it's surrounding area is the best place in the world. Our tour guide Jeremie met us at a hotel and we began a journey to the old town, Roman ruins and amphitheatre, down to the renaissance quarters. Jeremie knows the city and depending on your interests will customise the route. Truly to cover all historical parts, 5 hours wasn't enough but we were a bit tired of walking. The best way to see the city is to break a tour into two pieces, 3-4 hours each, and not visiting all at once, otherwise there will be information overload. Appreciated visits to silk shops

If you are planning a trip to the Lavender fields please do not hesitate to contact Jeremie for the tour. Despite it being an early harvest this year, Jeremie was bound and determined to find us the lavender. He is a charming young man, full of knowledge of the Lyon and Provence area. Spoke perfect English and was a pleasure to be with. Stopped for lunch in a charming little town and had the most enjoyable day. If we ever return to this area, I would definitely call upon Jeremie for a private tour.

Your Lyon tour itinerary
Here's an idea of itinerary: MORNING: We start on the top of the Fourvière Hill, in front of the Basilica Notre-Dame de Fourviere. We explore the top of the hill (that includes the basilica, the lookout, and the Roman vestiges), then we go down the hill to reach the Old Town of Lyon. We'll stroll around the little streets of the old town. We will go through the traboules, the secret passageways, and through the courtyards of the Renaissance buildings. Depending on your interest, I'll adapt to offer you the best tour (architecture, history, and food). AFTERNOON: We cross the Saone River to explore the Peninsula of Lyon, the heart of Lyon between the two rivers. Then we cross the Rhone River and we walk or we take the public transportion towards the Halles of Lyon Paul Bocuse, the food market. This is just an example of a good full day tour in Lyon.
