Hi, I am Olivier, your wine tour guide in Lyon. I started a tour guide company in 2013 to make you discover the beautiful vineyards around the city of Lyon in France. I truly have a passion for wine and history and I communicate it around me, through authentic moments of touring and tasting. The goal is to escape from the big city for a day trip in the vineyards: please, let me show you, how wine is important in the French culture. I like to say that wine appreciation is not a subject for experts and even if my country is full of different appellations based on terroir, on the labels, there is a way to introduce anyone to a better wine knowledge as long as we like wine and are willing to share a new experience. I propose you to come to see scenic places, meet great wine makers, taste savoury wines and discover the unique stories behind each one. I'm looking forward to seeing you for a tour to come! Best regards, Olivier I am a certified wine tour guide since 2013. I have a license that allows me to drive tourists.

Overview of your Lyon tour

Let our local experts teach you all about this essential region's sublime wines! On our tour we will discover the history of wine and enjoy some great wine tastings with Syrah-based appellations (Côte-Rôtie, Saint-Joseph) and Viognier-based appellations (Condrieu). Peacefully set between the Rhône river and the hills around, the vineyard gate is a unique place to enjoy a pleasant moment. Everything around reminds you how much work it takes to grow the vines clinging to the hill and how useful are the stone walls dating back from the time of the changing era. And what about the wines? The reds are full bodied and very elegant at the same time. With hints of black cherries, pepper and violets, the Côte-Rôtie are undoubtly able to age well for years and are really nice to drink in their youth. The whites are flavoury and mouth watering with their fruity notes of apricots and white peaches. The winemakers I selected are nice and willing to share their passion!

Great guide. colloquial English -he has spent years in Canada. Went out of his way so i could stand for a photo in front of La Chapelle on Hermitage hill. Don't do that unless fit! Great lunch. Great knowledge of wine and production. Would recommend highly

This was our second tour with Olivier (having previously explored Burgundy and Beaune with him), and he somehow managed to exceed our already high expectations. He guided my wife and I through the Northern Rhône, acting as our personal chauffeur, oenologist, sommelier, and historian all rolled into one. Just like our last trip where he introduced us to Aloxe Corton, Olivier’s relationships with the local producers here were outstanding. It opens doors you just wouldn't get otherwise. He is incredibly enthusiastic about his home region and its wine, and that passion is infectious. He also knows exactly where to go for an authentic and delicious local lunch. If you are looking for a true expert who takes care of every detail, look no further

Awesome full day to the Northern Rhone with Olivier. We visited 3 wineries and had extensive tastings. All small producers with excellent wines. Olivier was like a good friend and such a nice guy. He took us around in his Mercedes passenger van very comfortably. Pointing out various appellations and such as we rode. But he really comes alive during the tastings with his super extensive knowledge and love of wine. We learned so much from Olivier and we’re no newbies to wine tastings. I recommend doing your wine trip to the Rhone Valley with Olivier 100%

Olivier was wonderful as has been all of our TbL guides. His English is very good. His wine knowledge is amazing!!! If you’re looking for a very educational and immersive wine country experience, this is absolutely my recommendation.

Olivier Molle is a wealth of knowledge. We had a fantastic time, perfect weather, tasty wineries and a very delicious lunch on a river side balcony. I’m a wine novice and Olivier always made me feel included and helped me to trust my instincts. A Rhône valley wine tour was a must do on my husband’s vacation list and Olivier did not disappoint.

First I would like to say that the communication from booking until the tour was exceptional. Olivier contacted me with updated details and he answered my questions very quickly. He had to change our itinerary due to Easter closures but found wonderful options. He is incredibly knowledgeable about all wines, terroir, history, winemaking and regulations. He was very enthusiastic and also found us a great local restaurant for lunch. I highly recommend this tour to any wine lovers going to Lyon.
