A tour for all the gourmets who also really wish to discover the french capital of gastronomy, its heritage and the life of the locals! I am passionate and I know (almost) everything about History and french gastronomy, so don't hesitate to follow me! The first part of the tour is a stroll through the World Heritage Site : if you are curious to learn about the History of Lyon, but would like also to enter a few local shops to taste the specialties! I will show you the famous "traboules" in the beautiful old town, we will cross an outdoor market (morning only). And we will finish the tour at the covered market for a real immersion into the gastronomy of Lyon with another tasting and the tour of the market! The sight, smell and taste: your senses will be delighted!
Clemence provided my husband, our 12 year old grandson, and me a tour of Lyon on our recent trip to France. Clemence is the best! Her love of the city and its attractions is clear and infectious, her knowledge is extensive, and her manner is warm, gracious, and professional. The your was prefect and exactly what we wanted. Clemence was great and very knowledgeable about the local food scene. We toured through the Croix Rousse section of Lyon and had charcuterie and wine at a lovely butcher shop, then went to a local chocolatiers that had been in business since 1897. We also had a stop at a local bakery. It was unfortunate that that Les Halles de Lyon Market is closed on Monday and we were touring on a Monday, but Clemence had plenty of things to show us as we toured the old neighborhoods and explored hidden passages filled with history. She returned us to our river boat and was a great experience. I highly recommend it if you have and afternoon layover in Lyon.
Clemence made our first few hours in Lyon a very welcoming experience. She is warm and thoughtful, showing our family parts of the city that we would have missed on our own. We were looking for a tour that would help provide a taste of the city with some additional hints as to what else to see - this was the perfect introduction to place that was new to all of us.
Clemence was the guide for my husband, teenage daughter and myself through Lyon. She was absolutely delightful and showed us all the highlights of the wonderful city, and kept all of us engaged with her knowledge of the history of the city as well as all the current bright spots. I highly recommend the tour and look forward to the opportunity to return to Lyon.
Organized this trip as a 22 birthday gift for my daughter who is back packing across Europe. Clemence was excellent to deal with and was a great Lyon host. She had a great deal of knowledge about Lyon and its food culture My daughters comments were this was fantastic experience

Please note that this tour cannot be done on monday and sunday afternoon. • We will start on "place Bellecour", in the centre of Lyon. I'll Introduce you the city and its well-known gastronomy. We will start by visiting a chocolate shop. • Then we will go to the "old town", the Renaissance quarter : you will learn the history of the city, and see a part of its heritage. • After that we will cross the river and we will visit the lively outdoor market. • Then we'll catch a bus to go to "Les Halles Paul Bocuse" : the indoor market, nicknammed "the belly of Lyon" and enjoy several tastings in this beautiful place.
