Guide #67314

Hi there! I might be new to Tours by Locals, but I'm not new to guiding. Since 2017 I have been working as a freelance tour guide. I have extensive experience guiding all ages. I am also a Dutch multi-disciplinary artist (since 2004) and electronic musician. And I have a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art and in Arts and Design Education. I also have extensive experience in teaching students aged 5 - 95 in all various aspects of art, and have run media workshops, art critique courses and motion graphic studies. Due to my diverse background I'm incredibly fascinated by the city's wealth of stories, from art to (Jewish) history and colonial heritage which I'm keen to share. My tours are lively, in-depth and delivered with a sense of humor. I love connecting the dots and interacting with curious travellers. In my free time I love to make CG-based art and music, touring through Europe as a DJ or reading up on my favourite subjects like art-history, Amsterdam (colonial history) , sociology, esoteric philosophies and psychology. All my tours can be customised and in case of the need for entry tickets will have to be customized. Please do not hesitate to contact me and ask. Due to the busy season just starting, it can take me a bit longer to get back to you, but know you're on my mind. :) Looking forward to meeting you!

We had an excellent tour with Josje. She is friendly, extremely knowledgeable and kept a good pace during the tour. She covered so much but we never felt rushed. We would definitely recommend her guide service.

We had an amazing 4 hours with Josje at the Rijks and Van Gogh museums. She is not only extremely knowledgeable but explained a great deal about the meaning and symbolism of the paintings. We learned so much - even my husband who knows much more about art work than I do. In addition, she is a lovely person - with a great sense of humor and fun to spend time with. You...

Hi Nancy and Steve, It was my pleasure to guide you through both museums and share some of the history, stories and knowledge behind the works. I love how curious you both are and I love your dynamic as a couple.
