Holland Highlights

We were delighted to see Silvan waiting for us as we departed the baggage claim area, after our flight from Philadelphia to Amsterdam. We had booked a day tour and wanted to see the outskirts of the city center, before going to our hotel. Silvan was able to adapt to our pace and physical needs and we toured several areas; Haarlem and a 14th century church, St. Bavo, a windmill museum where we learned how these engineering marvels managed water levels and transformed the landscape, we visited Marken Island, a picturesque fishing village and home to a Frisian monastery, situated in the former Zuiderzee, and separated from the mainland. Now it is connected to the mainland by a land bridge but the Markens retained there traditional costumes and customs. During the tour we stopped for coffee, snacks and we sampled Stroopwafels, a Dutch cookie. Driving in Amsterdam is challenging and Silvan was an excellent driver. He delivered us to the door of our hotel. I highly recommend Silvan. He is attentive and resourceful, going the extra mile to meet our needs and give us a great experience. Thank you, Silvan

My husband and I really enjoyed spending the day with Silvan as we toured outside the busy city of Amsterdam. We appreciated his thoughtfulness in making sure we saw different sights that were important to us, such as the beautiful Dahlia’s at Keukenhof gardens, a brief stop at the North Sea and lunch/visit to Haarlem. Highly recommend!

Silvan crafted a wonderful day that covered all the sights we wished to cover. From a view of the grower tulip fields, to an uncrowded entry to Keukenhof gardens, a scenic drive to Delft, an unexpected visit to a working windmill where we enjoyed a sandwich lunch with bred made from the milled grain, a taste of herring and a visit to a “leaning” church our day was perfect. And Silvan also recommended some additional sights for us to visit during our remaining time in Amsterdam. Silvan is top notch guide . Highly recommend.

Sil was wonderful! He was very responsive to our requests prior to the trip as well as day of. He took our priorities and found places for us to visit.
