Easy going private Holland tours by van (max 7 passengers). My main interest is to give you a wider view of Holland than that of only tulips, clogs and cheese. As an independent guide, I do not come with any kind of 'must-see' plan. Of course, it is important to have knowledge about the culture, the museums and history, but I prefer to show my visitors how the Dutch live. My tour gives in the first place a wide orientation on the city of Amsterdam. It show the places that most travellers do not come! We'll avoid the crowds! We will see the seventeenth century canal belt area, the medieval city, RijksMuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Hermitage Amsterdam, Anne Frank House and more WW2 history. The tour is a combination of driving by van and making short walks. My small group tours are an ideal way to escape the large group tours and explore the Dutch countryside in a more intimate way. We will visit small, picturesque villages North of Amsterdam where the big busses are not even allowed to drive. Edam, Broek in Waterland, Monnickendam and Marken are always delightful and authentic. If you are interested in a visit to the Van Gogh Museum, Rijks Museum or Rembrandt House we can end the tour here. From that point on it is easy to discover the city on your own. We will see all the city highlights and the hidden gems of the countryside. So in four hours you can see a lot of Amsterdam.
Hans was perfect for our small group and flexible. As a local he knew the less crowded gems and gave us the immersed and personal experience we wanted. He made our day in the beautiful countryside and small villages perfect! Thank you Hans!
We had a great day with Hans. He picked us up right on time at the port and we spent the next few hours seeing the countryside, windmill exploration, a stop in a darling town for a cup of tea all with great commentary from Hans. We were originally scheduled for a 1/2 day tour. But Hans was free that day and continued our tour into the city. We arrived in the city in time for some lunch and to go to the Anne Frank House. Afterwards, we all walked the city a bit, did some shopping as Hans provided info, stories and history of Amsterdam/Holland. At the end of the day he got us back to the ship with time to spare, smiles on our faces and great memories of the day.
Hans provided good communication beforehand and even parked his car and met us in a place that was difficult to navigate. He picked us up from our cruise ship and took us around the beautiful countryside. He had great knowledge of the areas and his country so we left better informed. We also appreciated him taking in consideration of my father in law who was less mobile. The tour was perfect. I'd recommend Hans for your future bookings.
My husband and I learned so much about the Netherlands and its rich history and culture. Hans was a wealth of knowledge and took us to places the average tourist might miss. We would highly recommend his tour. He communicated regularly and is just a pleasant person to spend the morning with!
Exactly how the tour is described. A great way to explore outside of Amsterdam; get away from the crowds and see the countryside. Our entire family enjoyed the experience.
Hans was wonderful with our group which included folks who needed more time walking! He showed us things we would not have seen on a regular bus tour including an awesome working windmill and a dairy farm. Being from vermont, the farm was really interesting! He was knowledgeable about everything from history to flowers to sights along the way. We truly appreciate the time he spent with us .highly recommend a tour with hans!

For the tours I have a luxury and spacious VW T5 available, with big panoramic windows. The van has big and wide doors to make it easy to get in and out. Because of the Dutch climate it has a well fuctioning heating system. And of course an air con system is integrated. My van has a baggage capacity for a standard suitcase per person plus a carry-on bag. If you are planning to take extra baggage, I can organize an additional car.
