Keukenhof & the Dutch Flower Region - Private Afternoon Tour

Stefka is awesome. She's like having a local friend who's totally knowledgeable about the places on the tour. We had a wonderful day touring with her to places we'll never forget.

5 Stars. Stefka was an excellent guide. We went to Amsterdam expecting to see tulips blooming in the fields. Unfortunately, all of the fields were already cut. Stefka took us to a farm that had a tulip field display which was excellent for getting the most out of our tulip experience that we possibly could. I highly recommend Stefka.

Stefka was awesome! So knowledgeable and kind - we had a perfect trip to the gardens and then she took us off the beaten path to see windmills (in the wild;). Had a great day touring with her!!

We booked the Keukenhof Gardens Tour with Stefka, and purposefully selected the 12:30 start time so that we would be at the gardens later in the day after some of the crowd thinned out. That was a great decision, one that we noticed Stefka recommended in the tour description. Before we started the tour, we exchanged messages in the Tours By Locals App, and she knew that we would be boarding a river cruise and would have excursions along the way. She wanted to make sure she didn’t duplicate what we had planned on the river cruise, so for the first part of our tour, we went to Rotterdam. We explored on foot to see some of the interesting architecture and the market. That was unexpected and so much fun! She’s a wealth of knowledge about the history and culture of the Netherlands and we had great conversation all along the trip. Then we drove along some country roads by the tulip farms and made several stops along the way to enjoy the color and take some photos. Stefka knew I was all about the flowers, she was very patient and helpful finding us some great places to stop. Of course, The highlight of the day was the Keukenhof gardens. Sure enough, as we were going in there were lots of people streaming out. Stefka went in with us to give us some history and information about the tulips, details about how the gardens work each year, and an orientation. She walked with us for part of the time and then we had a good couple of hours of free time to enjoy the park. bonus, she parked immediately right outside the entrance, while lots of cars and buses were parking a really far distance away. It was an absolutely amazing day! Stefka’s friendly communication, and happy personality made the day absolutely memorable. I would highly recommend any tour she offers, and of course, you can always reach out and customize if needed. I have a feeling we will be back in Amsterdam, and we will definitely book with Stefka again!!

Fantastic afternoon with Stefka. On our way to Keukenhof we spent a couple of relaxing hours in the countryside, complete with tulip fields and windmills. Strolling along a canal, watching ducks, avoiding nesting swans, and maneuvering around the local sheep was ideal. Keukenhof is busy, but not to be missed. Stefka's recommendation to come late in the afternoon was genius. The parking lot was starting to empty and the garden was much less crowded. The evening light filtering through the trees was an added treat. The garden was in full bloom in late April, we had blue skies and perfect weather. Exactly what we were hoping on a spring trip to the Netherlands.

Excellent. Smart move to go in the afternoon rather than the morning. Crowds more manageable in the afternoon. Just a really delightful day.
