Ciao! I'm Isabella. Welcome to Venice and my ToursByLocals page! I was born in Padua in 1965 but I've lived in Venice for 40 years. I moved to Venice to attend college and settled down. After graduation in Anglo American literature I worked for the International Movie Festival, at the bookstore of Venice Civic Museums and for a while I devoted myself to teaching. In 1998 I approached tourism and got specialized in cruise excursions. A few years later I became a professional guide and decided to customize tours for private clients. I love food and cooking and that's why when touring I always talk about local specialties and culinary traditions. After many years I still get excited about my adoptive city. I'm very happy when I see people enjoying the time together and get dazzled by Venice beauty! We took an Introduction to Venice 3 hour tour with Isabella and it was a great, great decision. She got us away from the crowds very quickly, educating us constantly, sharing fun and fascinating facts about Venice, and giving us wonderful tips for our 3 days there. all ws above average, guide was knowledgeable, Its just that in comparison with another guide ion Venice and also another guide in Florence that I found independently Tours byLocals was double the price. And those other guides were similarly expereinced and knowledgeable. thanks!

Her knowledge of St Mark's in particular was incredible — she walked us through the history, the stories, and the art of the cathedral and made it all come alive. If you want a guide who truly knows Venice, book her. Highly recommend.

She brought a local’s perspective to life in Venice. The history of how Venice was built and ‘modernized’ over the years. The memorials of the people who were taken in WW2 heart felt. Thank you Isabella!
