We did this tour with Neslihan on Sunday morning. We took the ferry to the Asian side and then a taxi to a beautiful neighborhood of small shops. We bought honey and cream, cucumbers and tomatoes and simit for a breakfast at a cafe that let us bring in some food. We also had menemen. It was a Turkish eating experience we would never have found on our own or in a guide book. W also enjoyed tasty cookies from a bakery. That morning will be one of our best memories of Istanbul.
