Explore Fethiye your way

At ToursByLocals, we believe that how you explore is just as important as where you go. That’s why every Fethiye tour is private, flexible, and built around you: Move at your own pace, skip the crowds, make connections and follow your curiosity. Find local guides offering private tours in Fethiye for every interest, including:

Layover tours: Got a few hours after landing at Dalaman? Your guide can meet you at the airport, hold your bags, and run a tight loop to Kayaköy’s abandoned stone houses, a quick photo stop at the Ölüdeniz Blue Lagoon viewpoint, and a seaside tea on Çalış Beach before getting you back in 4–6 hours. Prefer a bite? Add a pide stop at a neighbourhood oven in Foça Mahallesi or a quick stroll through Paspatur’s covered lanes for souvenirs.

Nature and Wildlife tours: Join a morning boat to Butterfly Valley to walk the short canyon trail and spot Jersey tiger moths in season, then swim at Kıdrak Bay’s clear cove away from crowds. In the evening, your guide can time a gentle Çalış Beach walk to look for loggerhead sea turtles from a respectful distance during nesting months and visit a local rehabilitation talk if schedules align.

Hiking tours: Tackle a Lycian Way section from Ovacık to Faralya for cliff-top views over Kabak Bay and a gözleme-and-tea break at a village garden. If you want something lighter, hike the pine-shaded path from Kayaköy to Ölüdeniz, ending with a dip at Gemiler Beach and a boat across to Gemiler Island’s ruins.

Getting around: The harbour and market streets are walkable, and dolmuş minibuses connect beaches and nearby villages, but trailheads and coves are spread out. If you prefer door-to-door ease, you can book chauffeured tours with private transportation or ask your local guide to arrange a car or boat transfer.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all itinerary, you can tailor your private tour to match your interests, pace and personality with a local who knows Fethiye inside and out.

Day trip ideas from Fethiye

From Fethiye, you can branch out to nearby beaches, canyons, and ancient cities for easy day trips that fit your pace and interests, and these day trips also work well as private tours so your tour can linger at a viewpoint or switch plans when you want.

Ölüdeniz and Babadağ: Swim or paddle in the calm Blue Lagoon, then follow short paths for views over the bay and the Lycian Way cliffs. If you like a thrill, paragliding from Babadağ gives big scenery with little effort, while beach time and small cafés keep the day relaxed for anyone who prefers the water.

Kayaköy Ghost Village: Walk quiet stone lanes and roofless churches in this abandoned hillside town shaped by the 1923 population exchange, and get a clear sense of local history without a museum. Photography, light hiking, and simple village meals fit well here, and strong walkers can add the forest path that leads toward Ölüdeniz.

Saklıkent Gorge and Tlos: Cool off as you step along the boardwalk and shallow streams in this deep canyon, then head up to Tlos for Lycian rock tombs, a hilltop fortress, and wide valley views. This mix suits active travellers who like a short adventure paired with classic ruins, and it’s easy to adjust how much time you spend at each spot.

Xanthos and Patara: Explore one of Lycia’s most important ancient capitals with theatres, pillars, and inscriptions, then roll on to Patara for a long sandy beach backed by dunes. History fans get depth, beach lovers get room to roam, and birdlife and turtle habitat add a nature angle in the same day.

Dalyan River and Kaunos: Cruise narrow reed channels to see cliffside tombs carved above the water, then wander the ruins of Kaunos with its theatre and acropolis. A swim at Iztuzu Beach fits well, and the mix of archaeology, river scenery, and simple seafood stops suits curious travellers who like varied days on the move.

A private tour with a local guide is the best way to really get to know a place. Skip the crowds, follow your interests, and see a side of Fethiye most travellers miss.
