This tour is arranged to the southern tip of Gallipoli Peninsula where British and French soldiers fought in WWI. Especially after naval operations in march 1915 Cape Helles was an inevitable place for landings. That is why Allied Forces landed at the beaches coded as ''S, V, W, X and Y'' We are going four of them to see and understand how the conditions were for both side. For Turkish, French and British men who fought and fallen here there are memorials. We are visiting some cemeteries as well. When you go these beaches and the memorials you will hear so much stories which changed the fate of all operations, from Turkish and British Perspective.
-After driving for 30', we stop at Achi Baba Hill and navigate the surrounding zone. -Then, drive to Skew Bridge Cemetery for a quick stop, French Memorial & Cemetery, Turkish Memorial, S Beach are all close to each other. Stop there and visit by walking. -After taking photos here in the memorials and cemeteries, by driving nearby the S beach, arrive at Sedd-el-Bahr Village, stopping next to V Beach & Cemetery, and talking about plans and defensive issues. We will have enough time to explore and take photos. -Doughty Wylie's Grave, British Helles Memorial are the other sightseeing places to stop. -W Beach is a charming spot for some people to swim but it was another main landing beach to mention for us. -Lancashire Landing Cemetery was built by CWGC to concentrate some burial grounds in itself. It is worth seeing. -X Beach, Twelve Tree Copse Cem. and village are the next spots. -During the trip to these points you will have a chance to step out of the vehicle, take a stroll, look around and take photos.
