Two Wonderful Days in Istanbul & Best Private Tour

We were in Istanbul for a short visit so decided to do the two-day tour with Ali. It was a great decision as we managed to see far more than we could have accomplished on our own. Ali was flexible and adjusted the itinerary so we could fit in all the sights we wanted. He shared his vast knowledge of the history and culture of Istanbul, making our visit so much more enjoyable. You can’t go wrong with Ali. He is friendly and easygoing, a pleasure to spend time with. We highly recommend Ali!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 days with Ali in Istanbul. All the basics were perfect – weather good, communication easy, on time, responsive, admission to museums and sites was smooth and quick and arranged by Ali. This is a walking tour. Ali is a licensed guide who took us into the interesting parts of Topkapi, Blue Mosque, Hippodrome, the Cistern and the Grand Bazaar. We were particularly interested in the Serpentine column in the Hippodrome because the original is in Istanbul, but a copy is at Delphi Greece, which we visited 5 days later. For the second day we visited the newer more European style Dolmabahce Palace, which we reached from our hotel by walking and also taking an Istanbul tram. A high point of the second day was the ferry ride across the Bosphorus and lunch at a locals restaurant on the Asian side. This was our first visit to Turkey. Overall these tours were excellent introductions to Istanbul. The following day, we used out tram experience, and advice from Ali, to travel around Istanbul by ourselves.

We felt very fortunate to have Ali as our tour guide. He exceeded our expectations. He showed us around the beautiful city of Istanbul. He was able to transport us to all the history and culture of this amazing place. His personable, laid-back, extremely knowledgeable, and was able to give us all the highlights in two days. We will highly recommend him to anyone who wants to come to Istanbul. You will have the best guide!
