Ilker is a very knowledgeable guide with a great passion for his city and Ephesus in particular. He was very helpful in navigating the site given one of us has mobility issues. Ephesus is an absolute must visit - incredible - and Ilker really brought it to life. We then had a nice lunch at restaurant connected to a Turkish rug shop. We accepted an invitation to see a demo which was very interesting followed by a tour of the store. At that point, I should have said we had zero interest in buying a rug which would have saved everyone time and the trouble of rolling out a dozen or more rugs! After that, we had a visit to a leather shop as requested by my wife where she left behind one of her favorite hats. She didn't realize this until the end of the tour. Ilker called the shop and had someone from his office retrieve the hat and bring it back to the port where they gave it to a cruise ship rep who ultimately returned it to her that evening. Definitely above and beyond service! We highly recommend Ilker for an in depth tour of Ephesus.

Ilker was our guide and he was fantastic. He managed to help us avoid all of the crowds which was a tremendous help. We had a fairly large group and he was able to relate information to all levels of interest. This was our favorite tour of all of our tours!

Our tour of Ephesus with Ilkar was truly one of the highlights of our entire trip. From the moment we met him, it felt like we were exploring the area with a knowledgeable friend rather than just a tour guide. His knowledge of Ephesus and the surrounding region was incredible, but what stood out most was how thoughtfully he planned the day. He seemed to know exactly where to go and when to go there, helping us avoid the crowds and making everything feel relaxed, easy, and enjoyable. One of our biggest priorities was visiting the House of Mary, and Ilkar timed our visit perfectly. There were very few people there, which allowed us to spend meaningful time inside and truly appreciate such a special and peaceful place. Another unexpected favorite was visiting the small artists' village, where local crafts and traditions are still alive today. My husband even had the opportunity to try glassblowing himself, which became one of the most memorable experiences of our day and something we'll be talking about for years. We also visited the leather factory, jewelry showroom, and rug workshop. As the daughter of a jeweler, I especially enjoyed seeing the beautiful jewelry. The rug presentation was surprisingly one of the highlights of the tour. Tanner did an amazing job explaining the history, craftsmanship, and techniques behind the rugs, making it fascinating and educational. Even though we weren't shopping for a rug, everyone in our group genuinely enjoyed the experience. What we appreciated most about Ilkar was his attention to detail and his ability to personalize the day around what mattered to us. His planning, local knowledge, and warm personality made for an outstanding experience. If you're visiting Ephesus, we cannot recommend Ilkar highly enough. He helped turn a great day into an unforgettable one.
