The surreal landscape of Cappadocia, created by successive volcanic eruptions and continuous erosion is a huge national park. Its incredible formations and rock-cut churches from early Christianity are being enlisted as a UNESCO world heritage site! People are still living in caves within the region and each town has a somewhat troglodyte character! There are more than 80 underground cities adding an unbeatable feature to the area. Just an amazing tour. Very responsive, easy going and took us to interesting places that were slightly off the beaten track that were fabulous! We have done over 10 Tours with Tours By Locals and this is definitely one of our favorites. I would highly recommend this tour. Great tour is Cappadocia. Lots of interesting places, and Tolga has a wealth of information. Tolga is a really nice guy, knowledgeable, and efficient. This is a great way to see the area and is definitely recommended.
Tolga has both broad and deep knowledge of Cappadocia as well as Turkey in general. Because this was our first stop in Turkey and our previous trip was in 2009, it was very helpful to get a detailed review of Turkish history. He is very enthusiastic about the region and very kind with my many, many questions. His command of English is tremendous including a huge vocabulary and the ability to listen wand respond with nuance. Plus he is patient and flexible. A full-throated endorsement.
We very much enjoyed our tour of Cappadocia. Toga is a very knowledgeable and engaging guide. Our only hiccup was that the cost of the hot air balloon ride increased by $100 when we arrived. Apparently Nazar Balloons had to cancel flights for two days prior to our arrival due to weather, and as a result had a larger demand on their flights and increased the price, even though we had a confirmed reservation. Had it not been for this glitch we would have rated the tour five stars. But overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Tolga.
