Merhaba (Hello) from a friendly Istanbulite! My name is Yasin, a licensed tour guide who is in love with his city. Istanbul is more than a regular city. It has been a melting pot of different empires, religions, languages and cultures for centuries! I've been living in this amazing city for 37 years and have about 9 years of experience as a guide. My purpose is not only to show you some historical buildings but also give you a chance to learn more about our unique history, culture-traditions, cuisine, daily life etc. I am very interested in both Roman/Eastern Roman (Byzantine) and Ottoman heritage of Istanbul, so I can offer you very specific tours that you'll always remember. I have basic information on the ancient/medieval Greek and can read the Ottoman Turkish. I can also understand caligraphic inscriptions easily. I believe that if you really want to feel the unique atmosphere of historical buildings, you should know what those inscriptions explain to us. That's why I spent so much time to improve myself in this field. I also love photography and trying different types of healthy and traditional food. Overview of your Istanbul tour
Would you like to explore some of the wonders of Istanbul in a day? Hagia Sophia: Built as a church in 537 and turned into a mosque later. Breathtaking place! Topkapı Palace: It's where the Ottoman sultans ruled the whole empire for 4 centuries. It has got 4 courtyards, 3 ceremonial gates and several buildings. Blue Mosque: Only Ottoman mosque with 6 minarets. Its interior decoration has got about 21k tiles with more than 50 different compositions. Turkish people call it "Sultan Ahmed Mosque" because it was built by Sultan Ahmed I between 1609 and 1620. Hippodrome: It's is a Greek word meaning horse path. It used to have amazing monuments but only 3 of them could survive. They are the Obelisk of Theodosius, the Serpent Column and the Walled Obelisk. Basilica Cistern: Largest and greatest underground cistern of Istanbul that was built in the 6th century. Grand Bazaar: One of the oldest covered markets in the world. Yasin was on time, friendly, and very knowledgeable. We walked and talked through all the top wonders of Istanbul at a very leisurely pace. I never felt rushed, in fact, he made sure that I saw everything on out itinerary, even if it met he went late into early evening. He even took me to one of his favorite lunch spots where the food was delicious. Having Yasin as a personal tour guide was definitely well worth the price. Book your tour now!

Great experience overall. Only improvement was to spend more time at the Topkapi Palace. For example, I would have liked to have seen the royal garments on the second floor worn by the women. But outside of that, it was efficient and well executed with a great guide who spoke English very well.

Yasin is a fantastic tour guide! We were able to tour most of the major sites in the Old City over the course of seven hours. He is very knowledgeable about all aspects of the tour and very friendly, as well. It made for a special day of exploring Istanbul. An Amazing Day with and an Exceptional Guide - With a limited time in Istanbul I had one day to see all the landmarks that I have always dreamed about. Kasin was the perfect local guide to show me! He shared his tremendous knowledge of history, culture, art, architecture, food... We went everywhere from the opulent Topkapi Palace to the awe inspiring Basilica Cistern. Yasin was a terrific tour guide. Extremely knowledgeable about the old town of Istanbul and all the amazing attractions. Shared lots of fascinating history of the area. Saw a lot in one day and we were exhausted by day’s end but wouldn’t have missed any of the sights. Would definitely recommend Yasin to anyone.
