Dilek, toured us for two full days, during a busy time, to all the great sites in Istanbul. Her knowledge and timing were impeccable. We missed crowds, leveraged public transport, and enjoyed great lunch venues at her suggestion. We made a great decision choosing Dilek to give us a once in a lifetime experience.

We had a wonderful day exploring Istanbul with Dilek and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, personable, and thoughtful guide. Our day began at the Blue Mosque before continuing to Topkapi Palace, where Dilek really brought the history of the Ottoman Empire to life. Rather than simply pointing out the sights, she explained how the palace actually functioned, how the Sultans were selected, the role of the concubines and the harem, and what daily life inside the palace would have been like. Her explanations gave us a much deeper understanding of what we were seeing. At Hagia Sophia, Dilek pointed out fascinating details and features that we would have walked right past without ever noticing or understanding their significance. That was one of the things we appreciated most about having her as our guide—she helped us see so much more than we ever could have on our own. After a very enjoyable lunch, we visited a place where we learned how traditional Turkish rugs are made, followed by the Grand Bazaar, a local market, and the Spice Bazaar. Throughout the day, Dilek shared insights into Turkish history, everyday life, and culture, while continually tailoring the tour around our interests rather than simply following a fixed itinerary. What impressed us most was how thoughtful she was even after the sightseeing was finished. We mentioned that we planned to explore the Asian side of Istanbul on our own the following day using public transportation. Dilek took the extra time to show us how to use the trams, explained exactly where we needed to go to catch the ferry, and even rode the tram back with us to our hotel. That extra effort made us feel much more comfortable setting out on our own the next day. Dilek was knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and genuinely interested in making sure we had a great experience in Istanbul. We learned a tremendous amount from her and thoroughly enjoyed spending the day with her. We would absolutely book another tour with Dilek on a future visit to Istanbul. 100% recommended!
