Denizhan led us through the beautiful port town of Kusdasi and through Ephesus and John the Apostle basilica. The van was well kept with room for 6- 3 seats facing backward. Denizhan provided ancient and recent history of the area and details about modern life in Turkey. He tailored the tour so we could see an interesting pottery shop and had a delicious lunch at a carpet making shop plus a chance to be sold on a Turkish carpet. This was my favorite stop on our trip- such incredible history being uncovered and such a moving experience to walk through the streets that heard the good news of Jesus Christ in the early days of the church. Thank you for spending your day with our family, Denizhan.
We really enjoyed our tour with Denizhan. He is very friendly and knowledgeable. He helped us avoid the crowds in Ephesus by walking us through the site in reverse order than all the other tours. We also visited the house where the Virgin Mary was last believed to live, and St. John's Basilica built on his tomb. We capped it off with a visit to a rug shop which was opportune because we had planned to purchase rugs while in Turkey. At the shop we were able to see how the rugs are made and how silk is spun from silkworm cocoons.
We had an amazing tour of Ephesus and gained a wealth of information from our guide Denizahn. He was very informative and knowledgeable on the Biblical history of Ephesus and ancient Turkey. We had a great, traditional Turkish lunch, Turkish coffee, stopped at an interesting family owned pottery shop, sampled Turkish delights and other local specialties, and watched the incredible art of carpet weaving. We really enjoyed our day and would highly recommend our tour guide. His excellent reviews are why we booked a private tour with him.
Denizhan has deep and nuanced knowledge of the history of this place. He is also flexible with the agenda. We traveled in a comfortable vehicle with a driver.
It will be very difficult for you to find a better tour guide in Kusadasi than Denizhan. The breadth of his knowledge and perspective is unrivaled. The highlight of our 6.5-hour tour was the Ephesus archeological ruins. Not only was he able to guide our group of three around the ubiquitous bus tours, he also directed us to group picture spots throughout. The House of the Virgin Mary was an incredibly moving part of the tour and after guiding us there, he provided us time for prayer. Denizhan has ‘off the beaten path’ spots in the Kusadasi/Ephesus area that you can add (or subtract) to/from your tour. We made some dynamic ad-hoc changes later in the tour and he was very accommodating. He also expertly guided us through the various ticket lines. You won’t find a better guide in Kusadasi than Denizhan.
Your first stop on this fascinating guided Ephesus tour is the Basilica of St. John, a significant Byzantine church constructed on top of the tomb of John the Apostle. From this stunning basilica, marvel at the breathtaking sight of the Temple of Artemis, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, and witness the earlier settlements of Ephesus. Continue to the ancient city of Ephesus, one of the most magnificent and best preserved sites of Roman history in the world. Ephesus was once the capital of Asia Minor, and it is here that St. Paul spent three years teaching Christianity. Tour the ancient town, visiting the Fountain of Trajan, Temple of Hadrian, Celsus Library, the Marble Street, and the Roman theater that is mentioned in the Acts of Apostles Chapter 19. Immerse yourself in the rich history of Ephesus with an 18-minute audio-visual show at the Ephesus Experience Museum. Your next stop will be the house where Mother Mary is believed to have spent her last years.

Tours are conducted with A/C recent model vehicles. I use late model A/C Mercedes Vans for small groups of over 2 people. Mercedes Minibus buses for larger groups. These vehicles are well equipped, and have comfortable seats for passengers.
