We loved our culinary and history tour on the Asian side of Istanbul with Ayfer. We learned so much, visited several charming neighborhoods and markets, and sampled several terrific local delicacies. We are so glad we did this tour - we would not have visited the Asian side otherwise, which is so much less crowded and very interesting. Ayfer lives there and knows the people well. Ayfer was fantastic! Warm, personable, loves doing this, loves the area and knows the local foods inside out (and steered us to the best!) . It was a delightful 3 hours & we'd highly recommend!!!!
Ayfer was wonderful. Warm, welcoming, and a great introduction to Turkish cuisine. We found some dishes we would have never have tried on our own and glad we went early in our trip, since it allowed us to keep ordered the 'greatest hits' from Ayfer's tour! In addition, she was very helpful with follow-up and had many good recommendations for other restaurants and/or shops we should try before leaving. Highly recommended!

Ayfer was a delight. We wanted a guide for the Asian side of Istanbul and settled on a food tour. Ayfer speaks flawless English and we were able to go to places that only locals know. She shared with us some of her favorites and helped us select shopping and even an electronics store for a laptop charger I needed. Fewer people on this side speak English so having her along was so valuable. She customized our stops after talking with us about our likes and dislikes, and her choices were great.

This 3 hour food walk is created for you to experience tastes from all over the country: Black Sea, Southeast, Mediterranean and Aegean. The route will be determined according to the directions that your tastebuds are giving us! You'll be able to taste the best examples from each area without travelling all over the country. We will stop at local restaurants, candy shops that has been there for generations, fish market, street food stalls and hear some lovely stories of the neighborhood. We will end our experience with a delicious Turkish Coffee and see how to make a perfect Turkish coffee. Another ending to the tour can be at one of the my favorite pubs with a wine or beer! Be sure to arrive hungry! This tour will be personalized for your tastes, however feel free to contact me if you would like to taste or do anything in specific.
