It's always a good idea to see the highlights of the city during the first day of your visit to Istanbul for a good introduction accompanied by the stories of this stunning city blended with history, culture, mythology, geography and cuisine. Topkapi Palace wasn't only a resident for the sultans but also it witnessed many interesting events. Hagia Sophia is a splendid building where you will enjoy a masterpiece of architecture. Blue Mosque is probably the best place to see the gorgeous Ottoman tiles. No baseball no basketball what was there to entertain the residents of Constantinople? It was of course the Hippodrome just like in many other Roman cities. I have always been amazed by the thinking of those people watching the chariot races at the time. For someone who is visiting the Grand Bazaar for the first time it's a place people are just passing by. When it comes to the exploring the hidden gems of the market and shopping the local handicrafts you may need a company.
Duygu was exceptional. She tailored the tour to meet our schedule and interests, organized the tickets and provided enough historical context to keep everyone engaged--not an easy task for an inter-generational family. Further, she was very personal and helped us to plan the rest of our trip. The lunch spot near the Topkapi Palace was a highlight and a welcome rest. We highly recommend Duygu and feel fortunate that she was available during our visit to Istanbul.
Duygu was an excellent guide. I was on my own with an open day before work meetings and made the most of it. Had a wonderful time hitting some of the many highlights of Istanbul, with lots of history and beauty, plus good food, shopping, and a lot of laughs. It was a day of many souvenirs, both tangible and intangible.
Our group of four adults had an excellent walking tour with Duygu. She was so knowledgeable and kept the tour interesting. She pointed out many interesting facts at each location and was happy to answer any questions we had. She is an exceptional tour guide, and I can highly recommend her to anyone looking to tour the sights of Istanbul.

Duygu was FABULOUS!! She purchased our various tickets ahead of time so we were able to do & see more in Istanbul, rather than wait in lines. But even more than ‘simply’ planning & guiding our tour, she added many personal reflections of her city that deepened our understanding of the Turkish culture & history. She made the day fun with her warm personality & energy. Believe her when she says that this is a walking tour. We easily clocked 15K steps!! She chose a wonderful place for lunch. Tickets to the Blue Mosque, Haggia Sophia & the Cistern were expensive & not to be missed!! This is not included in her price (she requests $ or € and will inform you of the ticket cost). Besides visiting these landmarks, we rode the tram & sat at an outside café for coffee, which is just another layer of culture to experience. She was GREAT!!
