Welcome! I’m a passionate explorer of Venice’s timeless beauty. After nearly 40 years as an English teacher, I’ve turned a lifelong love for this extraordinary city into a new adventure—offering authentic, personalized tours that go far beyond the usual landmarks. I’ve called Venice home since 1987, and I’m still constantly amazed by its hidden corners, untold stories, and subtle details most visitors never notice. As a volunteer with FAI (the Italian National Trust), I’m deeply connected to the city’s history, architecture, and traditions—and I love sharing that passion with curious travellers. Whether you’re intrigued by Renaissance secrets, contemporary art at the Biennale, or simply want to wander off the beaten path, I’d love to guide you through the real Venice—the one that locals cherish. With me, you’ll discover more than just sights; you’ll uncover meanings, moments, and memories. Let’s explore Venice together, one story at a time. Docent at the Olivetti Showroom since 2017. Research and management of the guided tours for the Danieli Hotel on the 200th anniversary of the house in 2022. I do not have a license to give tours of the Doge's Palace, St. Mark's Basilica, the State Museums or the Civic Museums. Beginning in 2024, a new access fee will be implemented for visitors to Venice. While some visitors are exempt from this fee, others will be required to pay. The Ghetto was established in 1516 and is the oldest and one of the most famous Jewish Ghettos in the world. It is located in the northern district of Cannaregio where it feels like stepping back in time. Many of the buildings are hundreds of years old and the architecture is unique. The Ghetto is home to five synagogues but, currently, only two are open to visitors. The Jewish community in the Ghetto is very welcoming and the people are very friendly. There are several restaurants and cafes in the Ghetto and it is a great place to experience traditional Jewish culture and cuisine.
We start from where the gate to the ghetto used to be. Once we cross the bridge over the Rio della Misericordia, we are in the Campo del Gheto Novo, the area where Jews were first confined in 1516. After visiting the campo, with its singular edifices and the memorial to the Holocaust, we'll go to Gheto Vecio, the second area granted by the Most Serene Republic when the number of people increased. This is a lively area with shops, art galleries and bakeries selling Jewish cakes. The tour ends at the other entrance to the ghetto, where the marks of the gates are still visible on the stone. You can visit the interior of the synagogues ONLY on guided tours or self-guided tours conducted by the museum staff. You can buy your ticket there or online (https://www.ghettovenezia.com/en/). Be aware that the museum is closed until 2026.
