This is really a wonderful chance to get the best of the Cinque Terre by boat and train! We start from Riomaggiore, the nearest village from La Spezia and from here we embark to Manarola, Vernazza and Monterosso. Ideally located on the sea, these breathtaking colored villages give us the opportunity to stroll among their winding alleys, taking us back to the Middle Ages but giving us the chance to enjoy a nice Ligurian lunch or gelato and a swim in the village of Monterosso. From there we come back to La Spezia by train.
We visit 3 villages: Riomaggiore or Manarola, then Vernazza and Monterosso.

"Cinque Terre" is as we refer to five villages stretching along the coast, together with their surroundings, "almost vertical terraced fields of dried stone walls running down from the peaks to the sea", cultivated with grapes and citrus plants.

It's a unique environment, a "cultural landscape, a slice of peasant civilization suspended between shades of blue - the Mediterranean sea and the sky". 

We will visit this National Park, which is also a UNESCO Heritage Site and so highly turistic and very crowded, trying to remain out from the mass.

This trip is the best way to get to know the Cinque Terre Park in one day only, in a different prospective: by train, boat and on feet.

You will get to know the villages: Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore with their local cuisine, the pasta topped with the freshest pesto sauce or fish of the day.

This is the most authentic experience of the famous Cinque Terre on foot and, if you wish, by boat - the only two ways that the vollages could be accessed for centuries. Starting from one of the towns, we hike on a combination of low (classical) and high (optional) trails with breathtaking views. Hike as long as you feel like: from one hour to full day, enjoy the spectacular views, pass through panoramic vineyards, relax on the boat, and savor local delicacies for lunch. We also explore the villages, have lunch in a local fish restaurant (or picnic if you prefer), learn local secrets about growing olives and vines, and of course experience the sea-land connection unique to this area. Nature, culture, gourmet wine and cuisine - all pleasures in one!
Non-slippery closed hiking shoes are a must. Hiking sticks could be useful (the guide carries two sticks that you can borrow). Trails often involve stone steps, can be very steep and narrow - please see pictures. Not suitable if you suffer from vertigo.
