Ciao! I'm Isabella. Welcome to Venice and my ToursByLocals page! I was born in Padua in 1965 but I've lived in Venice for 40 years. I moved to Venice to attend college and settled down. After graduation in Anglo American literature I worked for the International Movie Festival, at the bookstore of Venice Civic Museums and for a while I devoted myself to teaching. In 1998 I approached tourism and got specialized in cruise excursions. A few years later I became a professional guide and decided to customize tours for private clients. I love food and cooking and that's why when touring I always talk about local specialties and culinary traditions. After many years I still get excited about my adoptive city. I'm very happy when I see people enjoying the time together and get dazzled by Venice beauty! Certified professional guide: Italian National Register of Tourist Guides # 08000034 Tour manager license # 591 (Veneto Region) Port Security Pass # 25231 (Venice Port Authority) Education: University Degree in Anglo-American Literature All my tours can be customized: do not hesitate to contact me! Licensed guides have no restrictions. For tours run on the mainland, I apply to professional drivers.

When in Venice do like Venetians! This town is a human-sized community and helps a lot to socialize. Thanks to its 400 bridges it is a unique pedestrian area where it's even too easy to run into a friend! We never miss the chance to share a glass of wine with local tapas or enjoy a nice cappuccino with treats. We love the idea of choosing from an inviting counter a selection of finger food: cheese, fried seafood, vegetables, meatballs, bruschette and more! Even though good osterie are scattered all over the city, locals have their preferred places, due to the bartender and the food and wine served. Join me at my favourite taverns to discover Venice culinary culture!
On this tour we stop at three osterie (bacari) to enjoy typical food and wine. In some places you can just stand, in others you can take a seat but we cannot make reservations. It's an informal, cheerful and crowded experience. -At the end of the tour you'll have enough of food and no need to sit for dinner -I'll guide you in the choice of food&drinks
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.

If your hotel is located between st Mark's square and Rialto area, that could be a good meeting point.
