Hello and bonjour! (Le français suit l'anglais. ) My name is Yumi, and I'm a nationally licensed tour guide and interpreter based in Tokyo, Japan. I've guided tourists from overseas since 2009 throughout Japan, especially in the Kanto region, including trips around the Greater Tokyo Area (such as Kamakura), Mt. Fuji, Hakone National Park and the Nikko UNESCO World Heritage Site. I was born and raised on Kyushu, the southernmost of Japan's four main islands, and I lived in the Kansai area (Osaka/Kyoto/Kobe) for five years. I came to Tokyo in 1999 and have been here ever since. I love Japan and have lots of information about my country's history and culture to share with you. I'm friendly, knowledgeable and open-minded, and love interacting with people from abroad. I'm sure that my tours will satisfy you and even persuade you to visit Japan again! Our private Tokyo tour with Yumi was outstanding. Having a driver in addition to Yumi is the way to go. She accompanied us everywhere and gave important background information on each stop. Yumi was a delightful tour guide - she was warm and friendly and we learnt a lot of interesting cultural and historical information from her. She also very kindly helped us book our ongoing train travel which was much appreciated! 100% recommend Yumi as an excellent tour guide!

Yumi was a great guide and gave us some insight into Japanese culture that we wouldn’t have otherwise learned. We enjoyed a very interesting tour of the Tokyo highlights and learned a lot about how to use the Tokyo subway system. We would recommend Yumi and the tour.
