Hello and bonjour! (Le français suit l'anglais. ) My name is Yumi, and I'm a nationally licensed tour guide and interpreter based in Tokyo, Japan. I've guided tourists from overseas since 2009 throughout Japan, especially in the Kanto region, including trips around the Greater Tokyo Area (such as Kamakura), Mt. Fuji, Hakone National Park and the Nikko UNESCO World Heritage Site. I was born and raised on Kyushu, the southernmost of Japan's four main islands, and I lived in the Kansai area (Osaka/Kyoto/Kobe) for five years. I came to Tokyo in 1999 and have been here ever since. I love Japan and have lots of information about my country's history and culture to share with you. I chose the most exciting & interesting spots for non-Japanese travellers visiting Tokyo. (The tour doesn't include Toyosu market because the access is not good and the fishes can't be seen closely. ) Tsukiji market: No. 1 fish-market in the world An experience of tea ceremony in the Shogun created as his second house and garden named Hamarikyu garden Asakusa-Sensoji Kannon-oldest temple of Tokyo established in the 7th century, old historical area of Asakusa having delicious local Japanese food! Sophisticated shopping district of Ginza, 5th Avenue-like a district, the flagship shop of UNIQLO is there. Remain of historic Edo-period (1600-1867) used to be a castle of Tokugawa shogun, now a day Imperial Palace At the last, visit Shibuya where is the famous town for the busiest crossing in the world, a bit like Times Square.
Yumi was a delightful tour guide - she was warm and friendly and we learnt a lot of interesting cultural and historical information from her. She also very kindly helped us book our ongoing train travel which was much appreciated! 100% recommend Yumi as an excellent tour guide!
Yumi was a great guide and gave us some insight into Japanese culture that we wouldn’t have otherwise learned. We enjoyed a very interesting tour of the Tokyo highlights and learned a lot about how to use the Tokyo subway system. We would recommend Yumi and the tour.

We really enjoyed our very full day touring Tokyo with Yumi. She did a great job getting us efficiently to all the points on our tour which would have taken us much longer to navigate on our own. She was very receptive to our requests both before the tour and while anything came up during our tour. She is a kind person and ready to answer any questions we had along the way, I would highly recommend her!

The tour is flexible and the itinerary can be changed as per your requests. 9:00 meet at your hotel, take subway 9:30-10:15 visit Tsukiji market, retailers and outer market. Enjoy street food and various fishes and vegetables 10:30-11:30 visit Hamarikyu Japanese traditional garden, experience of tea ceremony (optional) move to Asakusa by subway 12:00-13:30 visit Oldest temple of Tokyo, Sensoji, browsing Nakamise souvenir shopstreets, have a lunch of Sushi, Ramen noodles, Sukiyaki, Shabushabu or Tempura whatever you want. take a subway to Ginza 14:00-14:30 Visit beautiful food section at ground floor of Mitsukoshi department store, Nissan show room and the flagship store of UNIQLO etc. 14:45-15:15 Imperial Palace, visit Imperial Palace , Nijubashi bridge and say hello to Emperor and Empress. move to Shibuya 15:45-16:00 Shibuya crossing, it is said to be "Times Square" of Tokyo End of the tour.
