I was born and raised on Kyushu, the southernmost of Japan's four main islands, and I lived in the Kansai area (Osaka/Kyoto/Kobe) for five years. Kamakura is located 60km west of Tokyo, less than one hour distance. This city used to be the seat of the 1st Shogunate government from 1192 to 1333. It is called as "Kyoto" of eastern Japan. Numerous Zen sect temples, shrines and other historical monuments as well as Kamakura sand beaches attract travellers coming from all over the world.
