Guide #66979
Oh, hello there! Welcome! My name is Agathe, I was born here in Lyon and I grew up in the countryside, running through the vineyards of the Beaujolais. I returned to Lyon for university, traveled a bit (Canada, Brazil, India…), and always found my way back home. I love gastronomy, art history, and just history in general. I enjoy making jokes, mostly about myself, and having fun. I dabble in drawing, and read a lot but not so much since becoming a mom! I could have pursued a career in painting restoration, but I quickly realized I needed to talk, so I became a guide! Now, I can talk all day long! I love meeting new people and discussing everything, and I am always quite proud to introduce people to the amazing city of Lyon. I do not have a favorite tour, I like to change it up so I never get restless. And you know, even on the old tour there is always something new to talk about! Lyon is a very special and secretive city. Let's explore together and uncover every hidden gem. From Roman ruins to the modern covered food markets, passing by Renaissance architecture, let's experience the French touch. And of course, along the way, why not pop into a cozy French café for a drink?! If you have time, we can even venture further north to the beautiful Beaujolais region or south, where the quiet city of Vienne hides its treasures! I would love to ensure you have the most amazing time, all in a funny and relaxed atmosphere! Of course, if needed, I can adapt every tour at your convenience. A bientôt! Master's degree in Art History (from antiquity to modern times) and the national guide card since 2016. Degree in painting restoration from a private school in 2015. I gave design graphic and space design classes for some time! All my vaccinations are up to date I am not a driver as you need a special license to drive and guide as the same time. I can provide a car with a driver if needed.

Couldn't have asked for a better introduction to Lyon and it's history. Agathe was a superbe story teller and the two ateliers were well chosen and added depth to the history.

Thank you very much for your nice comment. I was very happy to show you a little bit of the silk district !
We had a great time and learned a lot! Agathe is a terrific guide: very knowledgeable, great at sharing the stories behind the sites, and totally accommodating. She combined two different tours for us and it worked wonderfully. We can’t recommend Agathe highly enough.
